I think the man that died in the cinema was the Vue in Birmingham (it was an electrical seat I think), so not connected to the Electric Cinema (as far as I'm aware).
The Electric Cinema in London is one of the oldest, and really beautiful. You can go online and book couches, beds or normal seats. If paying for the couches or beds at the front you just buy one ticket (which is for two people), so you might be best buying two couch tickets for four of you. (Or two side by side beds, but they do sell out really quickly). It's a gorgeous cinema, and well worth the trip.
