Porthmeor Beach Questions & Answers

Derby, United Kingdom

Hi, Whilst looking on the internet last year, I saw one of the Meadow Flats overlooking Porthmeor Beach advertised as a holiday let, & thought what a wonderful place to stay. Now I want to visit St Ives again I cant find it, so I wondered if anyone could please point me in the right direction; (assuming of course that it's still available. I've 'googled' it but cant seem to find it. Any help appreciated thank you. Pat

Meadow Flats do look amazing and are in a fabulous location overlooking Porthmeor beach. They are however council sheltered housing and should not be available for holiday lets. I agree with earlier comment that Cherished Cottages are great and they have a flat at St Nicholas Court on the Island overlooking Porthmeor. If however you fancy a sunny balcony overlooking the Harbour Beach try our renovated fisherman's cottage Sea Fever through Cherished Cottages

all the very best...

Hi there, try Cherished cottages to be honest even if you can't find the Meadow Flats you should try one of their properties, they are brilliant, lovely places overlooking Porthmeor..... try The Piazza. Otherwise it's a minefield of accommodation I'm afraid as every other house is a holiday let, sad but true! :/

Hope this helps :)

Sorry, i know the flats you mean but think they are privately owned, some might be let out as holiday rentals however. The St ives tourist board might have the answer. best wishes E Steel

Hi, Thank you to everyone who has answered my query.

I have discovered that the Meadow flats I referred to are indeed properties in the Social Housing Sector which are not allowed to be sub let as a holiday accommodation, & as such the advert I originally saw has had to be removed.

I have since enjoyed many holidays staying at properties through various letting agencies, so Thank you again to everyone who has responded. Pat

Hi own 1 lower saltings situated directly on porthmeor beach. It's a one bedroom apartment which sleeps 4. It comes with your own private car parking space . You would of probably seen the apartment as you walked along the beach . It has a huge arched window and directly on the beach.

We stayed near Pothmeor november last year, but do not know the flats you mentioned. We stayed at 2 Clodgy view, overlooking Balnoon cemetery, and Porthmeor. There are numerous flats and houses in that area to rent though.

Sorry I can't help specifically; we were staying in Penzance and just visiting St Ives for the day. However, you could try the old-fashioned Tourist Information office - I used to find them very helpful before pre-google.

Good luck!
