I don't have a car. How could I get to Bury St. Edmonds from the Grange Hotel ? Is there bus, train , other ?
A bit far out if you haven't got a car, sure there are places in town which would be more suitable.
There is a train from the village up the road, Thurston. It is on the cambridge to ipswich or norwich line and trains go every hour. But you need to get to the village - about a mile. Last train back is after 11pm so it's a useful service and you can pay on the train. But as the guy says above, the Grange may or may not be your best bet.
This hotel is located in the countryside approximately 6 miles from the town centre of Bury St Edmunds. I'm not sure if there is a bus service into the town and I am pretty sure that a train service does not exist.
I would like to think that you might enjoy your visit to our country and I hope you feel most welcome. However, I cannot urge you enough NOT to stay at this hotel. It does not reflect the quality and value for money offered by several other much better hotels in the area. My tip would be to take a look at the Ravenwood Hall Hotel which is located only a couple of miles away from the Grange or 'grunge' as we refer to it. The Ravenwood is similarly priced but offers far better quality and value for money. Happy Travels! Regards Bob
