I heard that one of the bridges is closed off for pedestrian crossing , is this true ? Can I walk across the border by foot from Niagara Falls Ontario to Niagara Falls Ny USA on the Rainbow Bridge ?
No you can't walk on the bridge. It is dangerous with cars driving on it.
I just went across the border at the Rainbow Bridge 2 weeks ago and the pedestrian bridge was open then. The following website will always give up to date information and telephone numbers you can call to verify anything you do not see posted: w w w. niagarafallsbridges .c o m (without the spaces as trip advisor will not allow links to be posted).
Well the only reason why I'm asking is my sister was in Niagara Falls Ontario around Valentine's Day and she saw the bridge for pedestrians was blocked off but it could of been another bridge ?
Yes you can cross bridge by foot and obviously you have to go through customs & immigration. Fees fro crossing the bridge one way is 50 cents.
It is great way to see falls, specially at night and in summer months on Friday night they have fireworks.
No problem walking over
Not aware of Rainbow Intl bridge closure
as far as i know the bridge is open to foot traffic... yes you can walk across the bridge and enter canada or the us...you nwuill need a passport or i used mt enhanced michigan drivers lic.so. its aprox a 900 foot walk across the bridge. you can also stop along the way for photos
Just remember, if you get tired, thirsty or have to use the bathroom...
Hours of Operation – This port is open 24 hrs per day, 7 days a week, year round.
You can cross the bridge by auto, on foot or bicycle. You will pay a toll no matter which method you use to cross the bridge. It is pretty minor for pedestrians and bicyclists but you should know that you will be paying the toll going both directions.

Just be aware that you are going through customs, so you will want to carry your passport. If you are crossing for the experience and to take pictures, taking a taxi back is always an option. There are taxi stands on both sides, for people who wish to walk across and then use taxi to hotel or car rental. I would ask about taxi fees beforehand, I don't know if they can drop you off before customs, or if they have to get in line to pass through before being able to turn around.
