Yes! We are offering two special tours at the bginning of July. Our En Vía Project Tour: July 2nd – July 6th and our Project Tour mini: July 3rd and 4th.
The Project Tour is a five-day tour that combines cultural tourism with hands-on development projects. Participants partake in a variety of activities alongside community partners including stove-building, a cooking class, a hike in the hills above San Miguel del Valle, painting a store-front with an En Vía borrower, witnessing a town festival and much more!
The Project Tour mini shines a spotlight on Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec community world renowned for weaving intricately patterned wool rugs. You will learn from community members about their culture and traditions AND reciprocate this gift through participating in a hands-on development project.
Highlights include participating in Teotitlán's town festival, a cooking class with renowned local chef Reyna Mendoza, and building a fuel efficient stove with an En Vía borrower.
If you are interested in seeing the full itinerary for either of these tours, e-mail us!
We will also be running our standard half-day micro-finance tours on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.
