Do you recall is the resort offered a shuttle service to downtown Nassau, grocery store or anywhere else? Would you suggest renting a car or were taxis easy to come by?
We do offer a complimentary shuttle to the grocery store on Thursdays and Sundays.
We can arrange a shuttle from the airport but we find taxis more convenient and a better price if more than one person is travelling. Taxis are readily available at Lynden Pindling International Airport. The one-way taxi fare averages $22 for two passengers, $4 for each additional passenger. There are surcharges for extra luggage and also late night or early morning trips.
One of the most entertaining and certainly the cheapest ways to travel around the island is with the local bus service known as "Jitneys". The #10 bus provides service from Sandyport to Baha Mar, Cable Beach and then downtown Bay Street. Buses pass by the Resort approximately every 5-10 minutes. The cost is $1.25 per person paid to the driver and buses run from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM daily. There are no bus stops, just hail them from the roadside. Extend your trip over to Paradise Island by taking the water taxi or ferry boat. Once downtown walk to the Prince George Dock, where you can then catch a ferry for $4.00 per person. The boats run from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The majority of activities pick up from the resort included in price. There are a number of great restaurant choices in walking distance from the resort. Most of our guests find that using the variety of transportation options with a few evening taxis works out cheaper than renting a car. Taxis are readily available. Do remember that we drive on the left as well. All of that said if it fits your budget having a rent a car does put your full itinerary at your convenience.
Hope this helps
