Hit there. I do not know weather August will be a good time. In the caraibic it tends to get very humid during that season.
I never been there in August, I can only imagine its off season and you would find a great deal. But it has to be hot as hell, I would think!
I don't see why not, this Island is fantastic along with the hotel I stayed in. But exactly are you looking to do?
Yes it is since it experiences almost the same temperature all year round (it is humid all year round but not necessarily more humid in August) and its location is accessible to other points of interest St. Martin. You can google the mild temperature fluctuation between the "dry" season where there is less overall rain (Dec-Apr) - about 84F, and the "wintering" season (May - Nov) about 88/ 89F. The humidity is more mild overall compared to North America though since the sun is more strong. Foot and tourist traffic is also year round with the cruise ships when they dock in the ports, so a certain time of the year is not less busy. Philipsburg on the dutch side (has a main strip to do shopping) where we stayed was more quiet as it is on the opposite end of the island where the main shopping and night life is.
