Hi : Bit surprised by aggressive management answer on the question of tipping!
Hoping to stay in Barna in 2018 .What is your policy on tipping? We should tip according to what? Would hate to be ripped off as an American visitor!!! thanks.
Hi, we hope you have a wonderful visit to our city. With regard to your questions on tipping in Ireland, it is at guest's discretion. 10% is an industry average. Some establishments will however charge an automatic 10%+ for groups of 8 and more.
The Pins does not have such a policy and prides itself on good service to all guests.
With regard to the review that questioned this, one can only surmise that it was taken down by the reviewer due to its inappropriate nature to begin with.
Have a great time and best wishes.
10% tip is acceptable I would have thought? That's what we in Ireland.
We tipped 20%, as we would at home. We felt that the service was extraordinarily good. What was the problem with the management?
We tipped as an American visitor. Up to 20%.
Hi. Could you be more specific? I highly recommend the place. all the staff were amazing, including the manager!
Just to be clear - management answered the question stating what?
See that review on service charge has been deleted...why would such a post be censored?
Looking forward to coming to Barna
Thanks again for help.
I see that the review on service cg-barge was takes down!!
This is obviously an issue for the Pin's.
We'll be going elsewhere.
Can't wait to visit Galway!!!!!
I was just a bit surprised by the management response on a recent review which talked and made some interesting comments about tipping.
I've been living in Europe for a couple of years and am surprised that there is a 20 percent tipping culture in Ireland like in the States...The Pins is a bit expensive for me if I have to add tips
Thought you guys had a minimum wage!
Thanks for all responses.
