Do any of the rooms have fans as I understand there is no Air Conditioning? IN addition is the weather always the same or are there cooler months to visit?
Yes. Some floor fans some ceiling fans.
Our room had at least one (maybe 2) fans in it.
I agree with the other responders . . . thetemperatures are so moderate in Vilcababma there is really no need for AC.
Michael - Our room had a tall Stand-Fan. You know the three speed oscillating type? It was nice to have for a nap after a hike in the afternoon, but totally unnecessary for sleeping at night. If your room does not have a fan, the owners will surely provide one for you if you'd like to have one. It's just they way they operate!
Air Conditioning is definitely not required.
As for cooler months to visit? With Ecuador so close to the equator, the temperature difference from the coolest months to the warmest months is about 6 degrees F. In Vilcabamba that means average highs on a coolest month of 73 F or so to the average highs on the warmest month of 79 F or so. It is the same in Cuenca, Ecuador where I live - - - but about 6 degrees cooler throughout the year than Vilcabamba. I hope this helps a little. KEN
Sorry, I have no idea if they have fans available, but I suspect that they do as they are very, very helpful for weather information check out world weather online and ask for Vilcabamba, Loja, Ecuador. The daily averages are 23 to 26C all year round. Now is the rainy season, less than 7 inches a month - usually a mist at night. It is sweater weather in the mornings and evenings, short sleeve shirt spring-like weather during the day.
