Hi my husband has a bad hip & has difficulty with stairs .
If we booked would he be motioned in the hotel .
What is the surrounding like for getting about on foot ?
The walkways to restaurant and cafe and reception are all flat and well maintained. There are 3 steps into the lodge there may be a ramp though... give them a call they are very accomdating.
Hi, there are four or five steps at entry to lodge. Once inside, the lodge is all on one level. I think it would be fine for your husband. Walking from the lodge to the restaurant/reception etc is about 300 metres. Slightly downhill on the way there and slightly uphill on way back. All walks are reasonably easy in the village
As stated there are a few stairs at the entrance. The building is level inside ( the main lodge) you can drive to the entrance to drop off as there is a small slope from the carpark. Easy drive to shop there. The restaurant is onsite with the accommodation so no trouble there. Also as it is linked you dont have to walk outside from room to restaurant, good for the evening meal. There are walks that are flat around the large grounds, and as stated dont try the walk to the waterfall with mobility issues. I hope you enjoy ith there as we had a great relaxing time there.
I can only confirm what Mandy has said, some steps at the entrance, I am certain if you spoke to Management they would place you in a room near to the lounge/bar area, also near the entrance. The lounge area is so beautifully set out, just sitting in there overlooking the valley, great fireplace, bespoke furniture, just relax and enjoy. There are long hallways to other rooms but I think they are all going to be really lovely. You could just drive to the shops and the café and if it is cold you would probably want to do that anyway. Also just drive to see the Highland cattle and countryside, it isn't a place for adventure, it is a place for relaxing and I am sure you would love it.
The lodge has a few stairs , about 8, at the entrance but other than that it is all on one level. The other accommodation appears to be ok especially the cottages. The surrounding acreage is hilly in parts but not too bad. The forest walk we went on was hard going and I have a bad back so could not complete it. It is in the mountains so level walks are limited. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful holiday, where ever you may go.
