Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have traveled with princess before but not this ship. From day one we complained about foul smell inside our room. Every day, someone comes and either puts carpet cleaner chemicals to make it smell good and cover the bad smell or put chemicals inside drains. I kept telling them it’s NOT coming from the bathroom. Even the hallway smell bad. We have two rooms for 14 days. It’s only day 6. Something from top of us making this smell. Even another cabin in this section told us how bad the smell has been and they didn’t complain because they are leaving and will write their review about it later. I asked for our rooms to be moved to another section but a rude lady at the service desk said “no we are full, you can’t change room and there is no smell. They spoke to you and cleaned everything and there is no smell” I asked her to come up and smell it!!!! She said no. Supervisor will come and talk to you. Supervisor doesn’t understand this smell is not coming out of our toilet or shower!!! It’s in the vents. It’s from top floor. It’s our section with 6-8 cabins. Smell is in a hallway too. Somewhere the sewer is overflowing or leaking which causes this smell. Supervisor offers us $100 each credit but, I don’t need the money, I need my room changed. Very disappointed with princess Sapphire We still have another week here to deal with this smell issue. ! We stay out of our cabin as much as possible. It’s sad they don’t have a good engineer to figure this out. Customer service lady also gives me attitude like I’m crazy for smelling this. There are 4 of us smelling it plus the room across from us. This totally is ruining our trip.

Horrible service. My experience this time though has been horrendous m. I need to include the correspondence history and write it out as it is a lot over multiple days but it is truely damning both in terms of their incompetence and lack of accountability and service.

We have cruised many times(over 30) and never really had a bad cruise. This was no exception, we found boarding easy, took less than 10 min, staff was great ,could not ask for better service. The only downside going on tours was often a very crowded ,rushed time. The disembarking was a royal mess, overcrowded immigration, long wait for buses, 1 1/2 hours to get off the boat and on a bus with no place to sit. Would rate Princess very high on on board service(although medallion service could be spotty) and on board experience, tours average, disembarking very poor.

We have been on 15+ cruises on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Celebrity and this cruise was one of our favorites. We sailed from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Santiago, Chile on a 2 weeks cruise on the Sapphire Princess. The ports of call were good but the highlights of the cruise were the penguins on the Falkland Islands and in the Beagle Channel and the Amalia Glacier. We had outstanding service, food and drinks and really good shows. Our cabin steward, Prisco was excellent! He was one of those stealth cabin stewards who we saw in the hallway now and then, but always seemed to know when we were gone and our room was always made up when we came back. We enjoyed the smaller dining rooms and had great service from Barbara from Zimbabwe, our hostess from the International Dining Room. We celebrated our 48th Anniversary at the specialty restaurant Sabatini's Trattoria and it was fantastic. We celebrated my wife's birthday at the Sterling Steakhouse that had the best Filet Mignon we ever ate! Shout out to our favorite bartender Conrad at Crooner's Bar. He always took great care of us always with a smile. Jeevan, bartender from India, kept us supplied in our favorite beer Lagunitas. Sukhi, Bar Steward from India. Fantastic service opening our water bottles for us (you had to be there to know why that was so good). We had the Plus Package. Well worth it for us. However, Princess never sent us a survey. We requested a survey online and never received one. We are hoping Princess will see this review and reward these special employee's. Sapphire Princess won the Best in the Fleet Award trophy and we agree 100%!

The ship was beautiful, every staff member was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and wait staff awesome. We were in a back aft cabin with a balcony, loved the views when we saw the glaciers I felt like we could reach out and touch them they were so close. They brought in people from the National Parks on the days that we saw the glaciers, one woman gave an overview you could hear throughout the ship while others were around to answer questions. Fabulous band, we danced every night. We were treated like royalty on this ship. The areas we visited were gorgeous, the staff was amazing, we will treasure the memories from this trip for the rest of our lives. Just avoid the spa area, over priced and everything includes a hard sell.
