Had a lovely peaceful cruise. Hats off to the staff for their service. Food was very good, dinner hours could have been a little later. Would have appreciated some ethnic foods. Some of the tour stops were not that great and bottled water was not supplied on every bus tour. Tours returned a bit late to the ship. More lively entertainment in the evenings would be great. The 70's party was a blast !! There should be a registered nurse on board as some of the guests were quite elderly. All in all, a lovely holiday - thank you.…

What a wonderful and very interesting cruise up the Danube from Bucharest to Budapest. The accommodation was superb - very comfortable bed with lovely cotton linen. A very well-appointed bathroom with an excellent shower. Breakfast had a wide choice to satisfy most tastes. There was also a good selection from the buffet for lunch. For dinner there was a choice from a small a la carte menu, which was always excellent with wines of the region. The crew was outstanding - efficient, friendly and always with a smile.…

This was our second Uniworld Generations cruise and once again it was magical. We did the Danube cruise beginning with an add-on in Prague. We didn't love the hotel they selected in Prague but it was completely fine with a great restaurant for breakfast. I am tough to please and probably should have selected my own hotel. As for the rest of the trip - it was SPECTACULAR! The attention to detail from the moment you arrive on, through all the special activities for adults and for children on these unique cruises are outstanding. the staff was lovely and overly accommodating. My daughter and I were joined by several friends who also had older children with them. We all had a phenomenal experience. I really can't say enough about Uniworld and we will definitely travel with them again.…

Overall, the cruise was very nice. Ship is modern, up to date (though most cabins overly cramped in design). Crew very professional and eager to please. Food excellent, with lots of local dishes (like goulash, duck, excellent soups). Wait staff professional, though one night it was inexplicably slow. But they're allowed an off-night. The bigger problems had to do with cruising and touring decisions by corporate. The first glitch happened on third day, a Saturday, when captain called everyone together to say one of the two engines had failed. We could keep sailing, but at a slower pace Since it was a weekend, he explained, getting service in Austria was nearly impossible. He made mention that "we'll make it up to you." He also said we'd be late to some places....and would have to miss a couple others. The big miss was a 3-hour bike ride through scenic countryside. Lots of passengers were looking forward to that, and it was a big disappointment. The engine was fixed on Monday, everyone was relieved, but there was never any mention of making anything up to us. Another issue that I found very annoying was how off-shore tours were handled. We chose this cruise because it offered special tours of Jewish sites in Budapest, Vienna, Prague, and other sites. When the tours were described at the beginning, the tour director pointed out that there were maximum signups for most of the tours, Jewish and others, as well as minimums required for the tours to happen. As it turned out, the Jewish tours were mostly able to come off, and we were able to participate in everything we wanted.....until we reached Prague. The big tour we were interested in was the tour of Theresienstadt (concentration camp) an hour outside Prague. I had signed up for that in advance, to make sure we got to go on it, and we paid before the cruise. Anyway, the day before reaching Prague, cruise director told us it was canceled, because of insufficient signups--7 people had wanted to participate. I found that astounding. Why wouldn't Uniworld go ahead with the tour for those who signed up, and take the (small) financial hit, rather than piss off $5K+ customers? When I made a stink, the cruise director offered to put me in touch with the tour company so I could arrange the Theresienstadt tour privately. Turned out the tour company wanted cash upfront from everyone who was interested (cost of the tour was now nearly double the original Uniworld price). Each of the 7 people who signed up with Uniworld decided to do the private tour, and it came off. But I'll never understand how a corporation like Uniworld will totally piss off eager customers, who are candidates to do repeat tours. Now I'll probably never do another Uniworld cruise. Crazy corporate rules.…

Disappointing. Excursions were few and weak. Service and food was, as usual, great. Organization also weak. Was expecting something similar to a previous uniworld cruise, Lyon to Avignon, which was brilliant.
