I preferred the Epic and the Escape because the staff on the getaway was less friendly: didn’t always notice you, let go some people witouth washing their hands at the entrance of the buffet, etc. Also, western carrinean stops where less interesting then the eastern ones according to me. Had a perfect inside cabin bought with a beverage package

Everything was pretty much perfect. Except the food, which was good but not outstanding. The pool deck is slippery. The entertainment is excellent...we were not bored at all, which we sometimes are aboard certain ships.

I sailed on the Getaway out of New Orleans and it was a good trip. The food was good at the specialty restaurants and the ship was fun. The ship and cabin were good. This rating is based upon the excursions and that I expected NCL to do better relative to the excursions that they contracted for and sell! The ports visited left a lot to be desired! In the two Mexico ports the people were constantly, I mean non-stop chatter, about how great they were and why you should be tipping them. In Cancun, I went to a beach and snorkel trip. The local Mexican organizers demanded that we walk single file down the beach to the chairs. They demanded that we wait for then to take pictures of everyone to try to sell you late. Then came the overbearing sales pitches. NCL SHOULD put a stop to this over bearing hard push for money by the locals! I went diving in Honduras. It was fabulous! They were great! I was happy to tip and purchase t shirts. The excursion was well worth doing again. The diving in the Mexican port is NOT a good thing to do. As a matter of fact I would rate it as down right dangerous! The equipment is old, out dated and corroded! The staff is nothing but a bunch of green inexperienced kids that like to yell and scream at people that have been diving for many more years than the kids have been alive. The boat operators are down right dangerous and unsafe! I have a US Coast Guard Masters License. I have run dive boats in CA for hire. I would NEVER have 12 divers grab a rope on the side of a 25' boat in rough seas while the engine is still in gear and/or running! This was just plain unsafe! Multiple people sat out the second dive rather than take the risk again! Do NOT do it !

I want to understand that everyone has been affected by Covid-19 and the shut down, however i cancelled my reservation on 3/23 due to my loss of employment and had fully paid for my European Cruise that i took a loan out for to pay for it. I was told at cancellation that due to the volume of cancellations that my refund could take up to 21 days. I am now in day 80 and the new answer on the phone is you have to wait 90 days. I have been given 6 different answers when i call customer service and dont know which ones are telling the truth and which ones are not. I think they should issue refunds as a priority and not send me an email everyday about the great deals on new cruises. This was our first cruise with my wife and there were 28 other family members traveling. NCL has 400,000 of my families money

We completed the Getaway cruise from Copenhagen to New Orleans (Oct. 20 - Nov. 8/19) where we experienced many cruisers sick with a bronchial condition. The spread of this illness amongst the people was created by inconsiderate herding and over crowding processes of all passengers during the US customs and immigration check while in Miami and then again when the disembarkation procedure took place in New Orleans. The Norwegian staff were conspicuous from their absence during the poorly planned movement of cruisers over lengthy delays. Several passengers were overcome with their illnesses and uncomfortable conditions resulting in their passing out while in disorganized queues. One passenger was suspected to have suffered a heart attack in the line while his wife was attempting to get help from her wheel chair as they were left on their own to cope with the disembarkation. Fortunately, other passengers and a New Orleans Port Security employee helped to call the EMS to assist the ill passenger. However, the few Norwegian staff in the Port hall were focused on processing of the new arrivals for boarding the ship for the next cruise departing this same day. Upon returning home my wife required immediate medical treatment to deal with a severe pneumonia condition with breathing issues, hallucinations, high temperature, etc. Coincidental to current pandemic? I think not!!!
