Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a let down!! Let’s start with cabin. Very tired and needing a good makeover…balcony chairs and table are a cheap aluminium garden type. Interior couch is broken and very uncomfortable. Food is a joke…don’t expect anything that is exceptional and most meals provided are warm to cold. The buffet is just one big swill house…food is really very poor. If you don’t have a drinks package be prepared to pay 2.25 euros per bottle of water…never heard of such a disgrace. Ship arranged shore excursions costs are beyond what is fair and responsible. A bus service to one of the nearby towns cost 17 euros per person…it is fair to say that nearly half of the ships guests used the service…nice little earner for MSC…say 350,000 euros. The guest relations staff are non caring and cause more grief than the initial issue. Entertainment is fair to average and generally there is not a lot to do unless you want to pay 40euros per person to play bingo. The whole cruise has been created to strip as much money as people for the poor unsuspecting guests. Gratuities are a real issue..don’t mind paying , however our research tells us that the majority of the staff do not receive any part of the 17 euros per person levied!! I will never travel MSC again and if you do….good luck.

This was our second cruise on the Preziosa and we were not disappointed. The staff were brilliant, very polite and helpful in every way and a credit to MSC, a special mention for Arafat Ansari, Akshay Boodhooa, Rakesh Kumar, all waiters in the Golden Lobster who looked after us so well. Ella in the Garden bar who kept us "Hydrated" , also the waiter in the Atrium bar with the Blue eyes (sorry can't remember your name) thank you for the wonderful service. We found the food to again be good portions, tasty and hot with plenty of choice. How people can complain about the food or service we do not know. We were always made to feel very special and treated so well, which only enhanced our holiday and for which we THANK YOU! We have cruised with other companies and MSC is by far the best.

We went on a three week cruise from Southampton in October 2023. Our room was an outside cabin with balcony. The room was very spacious and the standards were excellent. Hygiene staff were first class. The staff in the Golden Lobster were also first class and could not do enough for you. However the food was nearly always cold and could have been of a better standard. The buffet area was okay more like a canteen. And often no we’re to sit. The entertainment was geared up for the Italians more than anything so was disappointing. But we did see about three good shows. Over all our experience was good, just a little disappointing with food and entertainment. But yes we would book again . Stopping at Vigo, Lisbon, Funchal, Tenerife, Salvador, Iilous, and Rio

The excursions office on MSC Preziosa is all f'd up! On the first excursions they have me and my spouse on different busses. Tomorrow's excursions only lists me as a partipant. When I went to the excursions office they could not fix the problem and said come back tomorrow. When I asked what time they open the clerk did not know! Not a good experience. MSC claims they are only an agent fir the excursions but could not tell me who is responsible for this fiasco!

Took the preziosa cruise to Norway and what a disappointment. The fiords are not at all like imagined, not even when cruised with a smaller boat. At time it looked like a trip on some canadian lake, nice but not what expected. Besides the location, the cruise was an experience so and so ... average food, average entertainment, average excursions, average accomodation, althought we had a nice balcony cabin to enjoy. Cabin amenities totally absent, not the paper tissue, nor the expresso machine, not the sewing kit (that we had to purchase), nor the neck strap to hold the cruise card (that we had to purchase as well). Personnel was fine and kind, but that's about it.
