Book a halloween cruise!! Weather was perfect and we traveled from New Orleans Monday - Saturday and I had the most amazing time. Food, Drink, Party, Activities, Shows and FUN. I would totally go on this ship again!

I love the casinos. On almost any ship. Over 8 cruises with three different companies. This has been less than stellar. Casino is under staffed and it can take almost 30 minutes for a payout. The casino host is less than accommodating. I have more than 40,000 points from the first three days and they want to offer me a steak dinner for two. Yippee. No offer of a free cruise...nothing, not even a bottle of wine to my room. Carnival could use some lessons from other companies when it comes to VIP gamblers.

I thought I would be nervous taking a cruise but surprisingly it wasn’t bad at all. I would take a cruise again but will be exploring other options. The beds were hard and not comfortable at all. The tv only show a few channels and 85 % of the channels is something related to the cruise. The buffet was ok but full of food that I’ve never heard of and like they were trying out recipes and the food wasn’t really good. My favorite spot to eat was Guys Burgers and aslong as you get a fully cooked burger you will love them and it’s guaranteed to probably end up being your favorite spot to eat at. We bought drinks and tipped as well but soon found out they charged gratuity on everything already including the people in the cabin that didn’t buy anything. We constantly had to go to guest services because of these charges they tried to rip you off of.They was double charging us as well and I will never put any card on file again if that’s my only option. I heard others as well complaining about the same thing. The cruise is set up for them to take as much money from you as possible. The casino is the worse casino I have ever been too and I’m a certified gambler. You will not walk away with Anything believe that. Went to a free liquor tasting event and they let us sample on one liquior and said we can get two more samples if you buy some liquor smh waist of time. Went too Mexico and was so ready to leave that place because they try to rip you off as well and the people in progreso I think was so aggressive it made me so uncomfortable. If you buy liquor off the boat you will not be able to drink it to save money because they keep it till the end of the cruise.the free games on the boat will only give out plastic trophies as a gift if you win any thing. Bingo is expensive as well because so many people is playing and not many winners are chosen. Even went to a full blown live and marriage show and they gave the winner that raggedy plastic trophy. It’s all set up to drain you dry and you will set that as time go on. The so called free events is basically sale pitches to sell you something. The pictures they take of you at dinner and when you get off the boat in Mexico is $17.99 each if you want them. I really hate you can’t just pay like normal with cash or your debit card. They make you put a card on file that’s attached to a cruise card aka the rip off card. The cruise is over and I’m still seeing new charges on my account. Water in the room was $4.50 a bottle.Sodas is not free on the cruise as well you could only get free nasty lemonade and awful tea and the water was terrible tasting. With the price you pay for the cruise you would think that would be included but nope it would be too much of right. The WiFi goes in and out and cost a little over a hundred dollars for duration of cruise and that’s over phone and not for everyone in the room so when one person is on it they will have to disconnect so someone else in room can use it. It’s got to better cruise lines out there and I will do research before taking my next cruise.

When I arrived at my cabin on the Carnival Valor, I was immediately struck by the absence of my cabin steward. On every previous Carnival cruise, the steward has always been present to introduce themselves, but this time was different. I began to wonder if it was because I had booked a cabin on the 1st level, at the bottom of the ship, and was being treated like a second-class citizen. That evening, I noticed that the air conditioning in my cabin wasn't as cold as it should be. I called the steward, who responded rather curtly and said he would send his manager. Shortly afterward, Melissa Acampado arrived. She was incredibly professional and immediately took action by using an instrument to measure the cabin's temperature, which turned out to be 78 degrees. Understanding my discomfort, Melissa not only brought a fan but also kindly provided an extension cord to ensure that I could use the fan and charge my phone. She assured me that she had submitted a ticket for the air conditioning to be fixed and that someone would address it soon. The next morning, when the cabin was still warm, I contacted Reyden, the cabin steward, again. Unfortunately, his response was dismissive, saying only that it would be fixed soon before abruptly hanging up. I was left staring at the phone, shocked by his lack of courtesy. Later, I ran into Melissa again, and she reassured me that she had indeed put in the ticket and that the issue would be resolved. Despite this, the air conditioning remained unfixed, and I relied on the fan for comfort. After a day spent in the hot sun of Cozumel, I returned to my cabin on the third day, hoping for a cool, refreshing room, only to find the air conditioning still hadn’t been repaired. Frustrated, I went to the Service Desk to complain. The air conditioning was finally fixed on the fourth day, and the Service Desk followed up by comping me my one day of social media access, valued at $25. Later that evening, I called Reyden to ask where to get luggage tags for the end of the trip. He told me to go to the service desk. About an hour later before going to the service desk, I found the luggage tags already placed in the mailbox outside my door. I forgot to sit my luggage out but remembered early the next morning, and I called Reyden to let him know. He assured me he would take care of it, but he never did. After waiting for some time, I called him back, and he told me I should have put the bags out the night before. I reminded him that he said he would handle it and that he should have informed me if he couldn’t. In a moment of desperation, I asked for Melissa. True to her exemplary service, she personally took the bags away, which I found unfair, as the task should have been handled by Reyden or another crew member. At no point during my trip did Reyden introduce himself, show friendliness, or display good customer service skills. This was a first for me aboard a Carnival cruise, and it left a sour taste. However, it was incredibly difficult for me to complain, given how exceptional Melissa was. She went above and beyond to accommodate me, demonstrating a level of care and professionalism that truly stood out amidst an otherwise disappointing experience.

Don't know where to start. My sister gifted this because my husband recently passed and she thought I needed to get away. I don't have much to compare this to, but my sister says she was totally embarrassed. From her: The ship is old and not well taken care of. Boarding was a bit chaotic, but that's to be expected. Rooms were available early, yet some guests lost their luggage The Carnival app was useless, didn't work mostly and hard to navigate Internet was haphazard Gift shop too expensive to even think about buying anything Don't step into the Casino, just give your money to the cashier and save time . Food, not good. Same buffet everyday and slopped out like pig troughs The crew was nice and helpful as they could be Private dining poor. No menus, you have to bring your phone, food was mushy...could tell it was frozen. Service was very very slow The pools look like overgrown hot tubs, so very small only about 25 people could be in it and that is elbow to elbow. No shows, only a comedy person Best location was Serenty. Hard to get a chair though, they need more covered lounges. The best is the crew, extremely nice and did not experience rudeness except for the girl in the gift shop, she was snarky. Best food was the Guys Hamburgers. Everyone figured that out so the lines were crazy. But you can eat only so many hamburgers. I love the towel animals left on your bed everyday. Oh, there was a dress code in the buffet but not informed. You wouldn't believe the butts we saw. Girls walking around in thongs and guys in speedos. Not what you want to see while eating. Drinks, Lemonade, tea, water. That's it! Morning was apple juice, orange juice, mango something that you need to water down. Come on, Carnival! Disembarking was a nightmare!!! TSA STAFF RUDE, INTIMIDATING AND ON A POWER TRIP! No more Carnival Cruises for us. Spend a little more for an upgraded cruise line.
