first cruise took emagination , 2nd inspiration , 3rd miracle love catalina baja going to go again yes a rapid test is needed for vaccinated people but cruising is relaxing.

I love this ship but the staff seem afraid or reluctant to ask passengers to put on masks. I see many people walking in indoor public areas with mask off or pulled down below their noses, They walk right past staff and staff say nothing. Buffet servers even serve people with no masks or masked pulled down to chin. I asked 2 managers in the Lido Buffet area. They replied there is really nothing they can do to get people to wear their masks. This is a Covid outbreak waiting to happen. The Carnival Cruise Line is not enforcing their mask policies. I do not want to walk around ship any more with all these people with no masks. I guess its too soon to start cruising again. its really too bad.

Not my first Carnival cruise, but defiantly the worst. I have taken 5 or 6 Carnival cruises in the past and this one to Alaska, out of Seattle this September was a disappointment. Food both in the dinning room and Lido deck is not what I have experienced in the past. They are depending on passengers having smart phones for many of the services. I do not have one and many of the other people I talked to that did had problems with it. In fact everyone at our dinning table got real printed menus when they saw they could be requested, instead of using an I-phone. Waiter was great when he saw that we preferred a printed menu he just brought them each night without us having to request the. Staff throughout the ship was great and friendly and helpful. Food on Lido deck was not what it used to be, especially the Deli, sandwiches where pre-made and tasted that way. Pizza was still good and freshly made. Boarding is still unacceptable, I have now also taken cruises on NCL and Princess. both had a much quicker and less crowded boarding process. Poor rating may be because of the re-opening I have another cruise booked on the Miracle in November and I'll post my experience then. I also have a cruise booked with RCL in Feb. next year so I'll also post that one as a comparison.

We had an extended Balcony on the 8th Floor. Would never do this room again. The balcony had an overhang so it partially obstructed the view. On top of that, i think it was smokers but you heard noise and talking 24/7. Taking a step back the check-in process was pretty easy and organized. They got high marks from me and I am not a novice cruiser. I am giving a handicap score because this was the first cruise back and needless to say, bugs that need to be worked out but I will point that out later. The room was great with the exception of the balcony items I pointed out. Our attendant was IP from Indonesia and he was awesome, awesome, awesome! No issues there. Internet was horrible and that is a compliment. People at the front desk indicated they were having problems and other issues, which they were aware of. I wish I knew that before and getting help on the issue is under good luck and oh well. For this part, they get a D- grade. Food was food, some were good some was blah, but the service was good in the dining rooms and buffets. We also did specialty dining or Steakhouse. The food taste was good but the service reminded me of a knock-off purse trying to pass for the real thing. I go to a lot of steakhouses so I am a steak snob. The food was decent, but the service was disorganized. Definitely a step under like NCL specialty restaurants or what I am used\ to. Overall I give it a B- to C+ for the food. Service carried most of the score! Spa, I do a lot of spas so I know what a good massage is. I had three sessions set and they were ok. I would pay 30-50 max for each of these sessions and I probably would not return. The area is ok. I give the spa a C- to D+. I love ship entertainment so I know what is good and what is bad. For a small ship, this was really really good. I was surprised frankly it was that good- not superstar great but good and entertaining!!! Comedy was hit or miss but worth going to. The casino was good and people were ready to play. Overall I give these items an A plus plus with the nightly shows the main reason. Great job on this Carnival. Minor issues on the bill but it was all good. As for the ports, they were ?*&^ horrible for the most part. Because of the pandemic it was hit or miss on things being open so affected everything. Outside of the whale watching, I will duplicate the rest with a really big TV, a blast of cold air from my AC, and the animal channel. The ports get a C- to D+ due to the pandemic but safety is first in my book!!!! Where this ship gets an F- Fail flunk no pass mark is on prevention. Even pre-pandemic I have been on lines that were strict on hand cleaning. You really had to look for the stations on the ship. They should be obvious everywhere and were not. No trashcans i n the common areas. In the buffet and common areas, people are touching spoon handles, buttons, and other items over and over again. I am really surprised and shocked they are not doing a better job at this. Overall I would give the cruise experience a solid B. I think it will get better as things open up. Would I do this again? Probably the ship, The ports I would give it another shot in 5-10 years or so. Overall, it was well worth it. Thank you, Carnival. A couple of changes and we are A paper but good job considering.

Yes, this ship is old, and yes, it might be a bit behind the times in upgrades, but this was their first cruise back to Alaska after covid, and everyone went out of their way to make the most of the trip! The entertainment was great The cast of singers and dancers was professional and talented. Good grief...they do a different show almost every night! So much rehearsal!!!! The wait staff and stewards as well as all the crew and workers everywhere were helpful and polite and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Jen, the cruise director, at first rather grated on the nerves with her over loud mic and crazy clothes, but she sat on the stage and had a cool question and answer session which made her very likeable. The entertainment in the various venues was great. Our two favorites were the Violinist trio, and the band in the Red Frog Pub...Alter Jam, I think! The violinists were up front and easily heard but the Alter Jam band was tucked back in a tiny little pub with no billboard, advertising or promotion for them at all. That was a real shame because they were phenomenal musicians and entertainers, and should have had way bigger crowds!! I hope Carnival will give them a better venue so that more can appreciate them! DJ Cooch was hilarious in the Comedy Club! We loved the wildlife lectures in the Phantom Lounge by the marine biologist. All in all, this was a great cruise on a great ship. Some of the newer ones are going to have to go some to compete!
