Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

However Deb, Jai, and I can’t remember the other guys name. Glasses, Hispanic. From guest services, you guys were awesome!! High fives everyday! Entertainment staff… Sade baby, we love you! Tumi and Dave you’re also awesome!!! You made the thing 1 and thing 2 breakfast so might fun, and Dave we loved your trivia!! Our wait staff, Enrique and our other server I’m sorry I can’t remember your name! Thank you so much for making dinner every night awesome. Sasharan from camp ocean, Sierra misses you and all her teachers already! So thank you for making my baby have such a wonderful time. Dema our room attendant!! Five stars!! You’re so kind!! Sheila over in Nassau was our tour guide. Even though we weren’t really happy with the excursion she literally did everything in her power to make us feel good!! You’re an amazing woman!! The food was amazing, the vibe was amazing!!! I’m already trying to find the time to book again! If you have little ones, please let them experience the conquest and all it has to offer! Awful experience. Would never go again & wish that we had not wasted money here . This ship is old. . The evening activities don't start until 8:30 or 9p- so it is difficult for kids to participate. There were a serious lack of decent activities in the middle of the day. So the 'day at sea' was laying around in the chilly Jan weather. We were all so incredibly bored. . The comedian was awful. We left 20 min into the show. The other shows were also not great. . The upselling on EVERYTHING is ridiculous. I saved to go on an all inclusive trip- I am not interested in spending a few thousand more $ after we get on board. . The cost for internet on board is HIGH. The cost for many of the shore excursions is about the same as the cost for the whole cruise when you have a family of 4+. . The kids clubs were worthless. I have (3) kids in (2) different clubs. They said they were poorly organized and really boring. . 90% of the people on board the ship could star in 'My 500lb life'. I am not sure how they even fit through their cabin doors. Rolls on top of rolls, waddling around wearing next to no clothing. . The ship is incredibly crowded. When you combine the crowds with the size of people- it is very difficult to get around, use elevators (there were 11 elevators in the center of the ship & difficult to get one) or get food at the buffet. . Our room was next to a supply closet & staff was going in/ out of it and having loud conversations all through the night. I had to go into the hall on (3) occasions in the middle of the night to ask them to keep it down so that we could sleep. . The (3) hot tubs on the Lido deck were FULL of kids. At one point we counted 20 kids in a single hot tub. No room for adults and the kids were incredibly obnoxious. . The rooms that sleep (4) people have (2) very rickety beds that come out of the ceiling. They were wobbly & my kids would not sleep in them. So there were (3) of us in their version of a 'king' sized bed. . The 'king sized' bed was (2) twins shoved together that would separate at night and create a large gap between the (2) mattresses when you wake in the morning. . The hair dryer is in a drawer under the TV. The cord is so short that you have to lean over the drawer with your face next to the counter to dry your hair . There is a single outlet in the room. No outlet next to the bed . The engines on our ship broke on the way back to Miami which then put us back in port 4 hours late and they had difficulties getting clearance to let us off the ship. Many people missed flights home I could go on... but really- just don't take this cruise. Carnival is cheap for a reason. Spend a little more money and go with a decent company.

This is a continuation of my review of the Carnival Mardi Gras: (This review will focus on the food options) I enjoyed the food options on the Mardi Gras. After we arrived on board the first thing we did was to find something to eat. We are at Big Chicken from Shaquille O'Neal. I was very impressed with the chicken sandwich. It was flavorful, a huge piece, the bun was soft, and the fries were surprisingly good. Throughout the cruise, the line was usually long, but it moved fast. However, I tried their breakfast sandwich and it wasn't so good. The "biscuit"/bread they used was hard. We also ate at Guy's Burger and it was also delicious. I'd recommend either of these restaurants. We did a few "sit-down" restaurants like ChiBang. Again, the food was great. However, I don't recommend eating from both sides of the menu. (Mexican/Chinese). The Psalm was where we frequent a few nights and each night was a different meal to choose. from. The other places I ate and you should try were the Pannini/Sandwiches and the Pizza stand right next to the Pannini. Both were good to grab a quick bite to eat. Blue Iguna was a Mexican tacos/bowls/burritos. Think of it as a close cousin to Chipotle. I got the bowl and although the bowl was good (steak/shrimp), it was cold. I also had a lobster roll ($18) and it was hit-and-miss. They gave you two with fries, but the sandwich had the consistency of an egg/salad sandwich. I didn't get to try Guy's Pig & Anchor and Emeril's Restaurant. We didn't eat at the buffet because of the choices around the ship. Things to Remember: Many of the restaurants have an additional cost or your first meal is free and subsequent meals are $8. Pay attention to the times when the food stops or the restaurants close. We didn't eat the buffet due to the variety of food options, I noticed that they do not stay open throughout the day. The Gelato area is closed at different times each day so pay attention if you want a change from ice cream. The Shwarma was AWESOME!! Overall the food choices on the Carnival Mardi Gras were excellent.

Ship was old, rusty and falling apart. Wash machines didn't work properly. I had to pull wet clothes out of one machine to put in another machine getting dirty water on my new shoes. Second machine also didn't work properly. Guest services never answers the phone. Food was ok but not great. Hallway smelled like Marijuana. Lots of sewer smells. Windows in restaurants were stained and very dirty. Casino was rigged. My housekeeper was amazing. His name was I Kade on deck 6. He always remembered my name and found towel art in my room everyday! He was a highlight!

Watch out for the pay by the inch jewelry. I purchased a Sterling Silver necklace and bracelet (they give you the bracelet with the purchase of the necklace) and after the fact discovered that they don't want you to put any moisture on it at all for it will lose the silver color. $116 for a 21" necklace and 8" bracelet, what a deal!, I thought. Turns out even sweat will wash away the "silver". The lifetime warranty is for replacement, not a refund. Also, if it's lost returning it, there's nothing they offer to do. Save your money! Don't buy the junk! In the pic attached, you can see the copper chains that used to have a polished silver look. I don't want to waste any more money for postage just to get more junk in return, assuming they'd bother sending anything back. Buyer beware...
