- sarah l6 contributionsOne of the best beaches I’ve been to. The water is absolutely crystal clear, warm, blue and shallow. Gorgeous to swim in and brilliant for kids. We went in July and was just fantastic.Written 12 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Judi0906Huddersfield, UK12 contributionsGreat little city, lots to see, churches, markets. marina, sea views, walks, museums, Gin factory … the tapas bars at the Fish market are a great way to try something different. Nice streets to stroll in between the bus station & the churches. Fab bars along the side of the harbour.Written 22 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- supongo2016Brighton, UK46 contributionsThe beautiful natural bay and turquoise sea is absolutely worth the complication of the limited bus service. You can get there but do reserve places on the minibus both ways as even in October people were turned away, Its a 15-20 minute walk from the carpark where the bus stops. There's a small cafe in the carpark where you can buy drinks and snacks. The area is popular for walkers so the public maps are a little complicated. Just head straight down and you'll get to the lovely , pristine beach.Written 19 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dani84mMarden, UK429 contributionsOMG!! This beach is stunning!
This is a must see, the lovely hike to the beach is great, make sure to wear good shoes as it is very rocky and hilly.
We walked to Macarella first which is a gorgeous beach, but we climbed the steps to the other Cala which was macarelleta and this view was mind blowing, you look down on a beautiful blue sea and white sands. The view is breath taking.
The water is so clear and clean, and the beach is clean. We loved chilling here after our hike.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. After reading some great advice we got there early 08.00 at the car park name above and right by the start of the trail and only handful of cars. The trail to get there is rocky, so a kids buggy is a no no unless your going to carry them, but as there is no shade and trail is rocky I'd give it a miss its about 25min trek. Also, as I found at the time we arrived, the wife and I were engulfed in mossies OMG they were on a mission and 20 or more bites later each we managed to get to Cala Pregonda - Make sure you spray that's the best advice I can give you!!!.
Once at the beach, the mossies cleared up and wow what a beach and the snorkeling is fabulous with shoals of fish around you so take some bread to feed them from the beach or as you swim and even saw some small rays. The sea is crystal clear and warm and great for children who were able to walk there or non swimmers as it goes out gradually. The little rock pool areas are great as you can swim in them also.
There are no facilities at the beach, so go prepared, cream, water, umbrella as no shade but def worth a visit. After a few hours, the beach was rammed, but as we were there earlier, we had got to enjoy it and left when the hords were still coming.
On the trek back not a single mossie so must have been due to the early morning and being a bit cooler but when we got back to the car park wow cars parked as far as the eyes could see, and this road is very uneven and rocky, Gravel so drive carefully.Written 8 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You need to book to get a table but it is well worth doing so. The owner/manager is a great host and the meal was the best we had, all week.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matt SIlminster, UK163 contributionsWe came here twice in our weeks holiday. Lovely place with plenty to do, lots of varied shopping and restaurants. Lovely to explore the tiny little streets and shops. Some great views from the castle. Boats hire and trips always available.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David_M186223Torquay, UK21 contributionsDeceptive Whitewashed traditonal Spanish Fishing Village.
Step away from the main road of Restaurants/Cafes/Shops and go now one of the narrow alleys leading down to the harbour and you'll be surrounded by traditional white washed houses over looking the small quaint harbour.
I can imagine this place gets really busy in peak season when more restaurant are open. At the end of October your choices are limited but the old village is beautiful.Written 29 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The mountain is only 358 metres tall, but can be seen from many angles on the island like its just calling you to go to the top. Monte Toro has a winding road all the way to the top where you can find a car park, monastery and a cafe and gift shop. The Monastery is open to the public and a very nice looking building on top of this mountain. The cafe also does a range of food from small bites to large dinners. The gift shop is also quite sizeable. The views from the top are amazing. You can see most of the island. Most notable places you can see is the local town of Es Mercadel, the seaside town of Fornells and the Cape Cavalleria Lighthouse and its peninsula. This astonishing viewpoint just cannot be missed.Written 10 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris P6 contributionsReally excellent beach with good, clear transparent, warm water.
3 restaurants/bars overlooking the beach but not with noisy music spoiling the ambiance of the place. Sand was very fine and place was a great experience.Written 24 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lifeguard on duty and a little Man selling drinks from a trolley!
Amazing after visiting the lighthouse at the northern tip and then a chilled swim n picnic
* roads are narrow so not for the faint hearted
But we’ll worth a visit, can’t wait to go again 🙌Written 23 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Every other part of the trial was as described, but I think this part might’ve been washed out. It was extremely rocky, quite steep at points, and took us more than twice as long as all the guide books said. We walk about 5 miles every day, I would say we are in OK but not fantastic shape. Bring more water than you think you need!Written 31 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
