- SteveLondon, UK962 contributionsThe neighbourhood has a great vibe, there is a good mix of eateries, shops and markets. The views of the two bridges are also greatWritten 10 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- therichastillStevenage, UK2,719 contributionsBrooklyn Heights is a neighbourhood in Brooklyn and possibly the inspiration for a drag queen?
I visited by getting the subway to Brooklyn and walking down to the riverside. There are signposts and google maps helped me along the way too.
The area is very clean and tidy and there are plenty of places to sit and admire the views of Manhattan, Governor's Island and the Brooklyn Bridge.

What a beautiful park offering incredible views of Brooklyn Bridge and the New York Skyline. - I_Retired_YayCoventry, United Kingdom201 contributionsWe went to visit for half a day.
Checked that it was open and rides would be working - but they weren't.
Good job we hadn't gone with children as they would have been disappointed.
It was very quiet and we enjoyed a walk along the boardwalk.
Have been to New York a few times and didn't realise you could get to CI by subway.
We will definitely be going again.Written 28 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are glasshouses with ferns and bonsais but be aware that these close earlier than the garden itself so I didn't even get to see them either. They looked very nice when I pressed my nose against the glass... It is worth saying that the $18 entry is only a "suggested amount" but this wasn't entirely clear to me in advance so I paid $18 for a cold walk around a large dead garden. Perhaps the suggested amount should be less in winter - anyway, if you visit in winter definitely do not pay $18, but in summer that would be well worth it I'm sure!Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RonL40Utica, NY3,565 contributionsThe museum is quite large geographically but for us it was easy to visit all the accessible spaces in just over two hours. When we were there, there were huge inaccessible areas being prepared for exhibitions... impressed most by the Asian collection, European collection closed, American collection quite limited, Modern nearly nonexistent. A potential visitor should probably check out the Exhibits schedule before deciding to go. Nevertheless, for us, the Brooklyn was worth the time to visit just to see Judy Chicago's Dinner Party. Exceptionally important piece that is so very very impressive. Don't miss the Kehinde Wiley painting and Rodin sculptures in the side hallways of the entrance atrium.Written 12 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FarwriterLondon, UK113 contributionsI love a transport museum! This is particularly atmospheric because it is housed in a former subway station. I hadn't expected there to be so much to see but I was there nearly 3 hours. The first level has displays about the building of the subway system, about buses and trams, various old ticket machines and turnstiles, and some partial vehicles for kids to "drive". On the lower level - the platform - there are many old trains and carriages lined up along the platform, full of interesting old adverts and information about each type of carriage. I can't help preferring the cosy dark green 1917-era trains to the stainless steel 1970s ones! I particularly liked the old photos on display, taken by 2 brothers who documented the construction of the subway tunnels, but also took photos of the streets before they were dug up - such a great social record of early 20th century New York.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nate FBrooklyn, NY1 contributionTranquil and historic cemetery and arboretum in Brooklyn. Notable and beautiful graves of historic figures of New York City amid well-spaced and airy trees. Excellent place for meditative walks through rolling hills.Written 5 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Made to feel very welcome, and then continued to have a couple more beers in the tasting room. 👍👍Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The houses were amazing and so many were decorated. So glad we went!
Personally I wouldn't waste money booking a tour. We saw lots of them walking around but we enjoyed doing it at our own pace without being rushed.Written 20 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Multi confessional speech focusing on the love, faith and people well being. Sound level a little bit too loud but amazing choir and singer with very high quality. Available in streaming if you like to preview but on-site experience with all people attending is a must.Written 16 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Getawayfromitall67London, UK13 contributionsReally enjoyed walking around this interesting and attractive part of New York. It focused on art and architecture and the way the area has changed.
