Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Eddy T.Petah Tiqwa, Israel378 contributionsAn amazingly beautiful lake very popular among travelers. It is recommended to park in the Parkovisko - Štrbské Pleso parking lot. The other parking lots in the area are much more expensive. From the parking lot it is about a five minute walk to the stairs and from there you go up to the lake. It is possible to walk around - a little more walking. About five minutes drive from there is the Tatras Tower observation tower and a cable car. For those traveling off-season (we were in October) you should check the operating hours of the observation tower and the cable car in advance, it works mainly on weekends with limited hours.Written 22 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Antanas M.Vilnius, Lithuania8 contributionsWe were looking for a mountain peak to climb with two smallish children, 4 and 7. With a significant help from the Solisko chairlift, we've made it!
Our children have loved their first ascent, and are already waiting for more. The path up for them was like an interesting game, and they also enjoyed the view. And the descent, well, was even easier.
However, I have to warn that this might be not for everyone. The path is steep, and some places more difficult than the others. The children must be ready for this adventure both physically and mentally (it also means having some discipline!).Written 24 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GreenlakereenerVancouver, Canada713 contributionsNothing much to see really...you pass by this when you walk around the lake so take a look but not worth a stop, in our opinion.Written 22 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands6,242 contributionsGot information on hiking options in the area and public transportation. There is an exhibit of stuffed animals that gives you an impression of the High Tatras fauna. Staff acted a bit routinely, but correct. They probably get loads of tourists every day with the same questions.
Map of the area is for sale (7,50€). It's so rare to find such a lovely and well-maintained place that offers decent walk-in pricing for day visitors. I wasn't staying at the hotel, but I visited the spa for a day and absolutely loved it. The view from the pool is stunning, and the wellness area (with so many sauna options!) was so serene and peaceful. I'd come back here in a heartbeat!Written 26 September 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
