Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome drive up the mountains to visit the Lake Danao Natural Park. Breathtaking views. Remember to buy tickets at the cross road booth (limited signage) or you cannot enter. Locals pay 50p and foreigner 100p. Entry gate is much further down the down. Can walk down to the water edge and you’ll find a floating cottage for rent. Can be rented for 250 pesos .. carry your own food. No bathing or swimming etc allowed. Parking available on the road at dead end. Turn around is bit tight. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best places I have ever been. From the moment I set foot on the barangay until I departed. The locals are very much hospitable, especially the heads of the guide organization (the CALEGUID). They treated me as a part of their family. During my hike, my guide which is a bit younger than me, is very much approachable and well-trained, thanks to their continuous training. I summitted the mountain, Alto Peak, and back to the barangay in just a day. The trail is narrow, different from the mountains I have been and the place is full of different flora and fauna which can only be seen in the area. The Lake Janagdan is a true beauty to behold, I stayed there for 2 hours while catching fish 😂. Their are also falls, the Tres Aguas, which I really enjoyed after the hike. There are others sites to visit but I wasn't able to because of time constraint. Someday I'll pay a visit to the place again.

I haven't seen lakes before but I can consider this one a serene lake. And the view is also good. Unfortunately, we didn't take any of their offered rides to tour the whole lake because we need to find the Bakhaw Beach at that time. We just dropped by for a short visit and took pictures around the area. I would love to explore the wide lake next time!
It was a good experience after all.

Peace memorial is located at a very peaceful location well within Ormoc city. It’s a quiet neighbourhood and not crowded. Parking is available. Just the memorial and a short visit is sufficient. No visitor fees. Do visit.

The Veteran’s Park .... is also known as Centennial Park

The Veteran’s monument was constructed in early 1990’ s , in honor of the Filipino soldiers who fought for the liberation of Leyte and the Philippines 🇵🇭

The Centennial Marker , behind - still in the same park , was erected in 1998 to commemorate the 100th year of Philippine’s 🇵🇭 independence

This park & monuments , are located in Ormoc City , next to the Bayfront ... walking distance from Ormoc Ferry Terminal & main City Centre

Nearby are over a few different types of restaurants ... mostly Filipino BBQ

Even thou when I visited the park ( 5 times over a few months ) the park was a little under maintained

The local say ... the park is a nice place to watch the sunset 🌞

A quiet and private golf course seating on top of a hill looking down at an immense 360 view of the mountains, the sea, and the city.
The access road is now rebuilt, and so was the clubhouse which offers a spectacular view of the course, and now serving food as well.
They offer basic lodging for those who wish to stay, but those quickly built rooms dont seem very inviting and comfortable. Small wooden cabins would be very nice there where the temperature also dropped several degrees.
The pool is clean and nice.
They do need a few more carts but overall, it was a very nice and affordable place with huge potential for growth now that Mayor Richard Gomez is an adept of the sport.

Mario, the chauffeur, picked us up at the harbor and took us to our hotel. The van looks like new and big enough for 6 people. The next day we rented it for the entire day. Mario is extremely professional and knows all places around Ormoc better than a GPS.
It was very convenient and comfortable - especially for $39 a day.
Gas is not included and the tip we left was well deserved for the driver.

Wow, really crazy to see such exotic tequila collection. I have never seen before some of the bottles. The karaoke system was not your typical set up, 4 plasma screens and 1 huge HD projector screen with very good sounds. Native style bar really felt at home here. Took around 10 friends and we had a blast! If your looking for something different and want to see a nice bar and have a great time worth the evening spent.

These are great people to deal with. Definately call or send a WeChat in advace to make sure a bike is available. The bike I got was in good shape and ran well. No muss no fuss. Definately recommend.

We found Lakip on Facebook and sent a message to book a night for camping and use of their mini pool. My friends and I took a 2-hour drive from Baybay on the day of the booking. When we arrived we checked-in by the road and bought drinks in their Sari-Sari store, after that it's a 10-minute walk on a jungle path up to the park.

When entering we got greeted by a nice lady who showed us where the camping ground, swimming pool, hiking trail ect. was and she told us a little about her park.
We arrived a little late so we immediately set up camp at their camping ground. (we brought our own tents but you can rent also)
It's a little higher up from the entrance so we had a beautiful view of the jungle, the farms and the rice fields below.

After that we ate dinner by the swimming pool. We bought our own food but you can make a campfire or rent a stove/BBQ. We hung out in the mini pool and you can also rent batminton rackets, darts or a chess board (for free) which is nice to pass the time.

It was getting dark so we didn't do the hiking, but the lady told us it takes 30 minutes to 2 hours to reach the peak and down. On the mountain peak there is a viewing tower, some people picnic there also.

There are a lot of places to sit and hang out there, you are surrounded by jungle so it's cooler and windier than in the city. It feels like a public park, so it would be a nice place to study, celebrate something or have a barbecue.
I would definitely recommend to do a day visit or camping because it's there a not a lot of attractions (especially camping grounds) near Ormoc and entry is a low price.
