What travellers are saying
- SHIRRAMARINABali, Indonesia60 contributionsThe beach is black sand beach, with good and big area to seat. On our arrival the beach was closed bu we allowed to explore the area. It’s clean but small area to swim but the plus poin is, it has 2 swimming pool for adult and kidsWritten 8 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- RandyfromthebeachAdelaide, Australia167 contributionsWe took a ride over here to check it out and it was a beautiful spot. More scenic than beachy. You can stop for a while and get a drink or a snack or jump in the crystal clear water.Written 3 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SHIRRAMARINABali, Indonesia60 contributionsWe came when it’s rained. But we got the place to ourselve. The area quite small to walk around, eventhough the place itself is big. You see the ocean in front side and Gamalama mountain on the other sideWritten 8 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bangla, barrySurabaya, Indonesia83 contributionsDodola island is a very nice place for a picnic day trip. Not much for food to pick from besides popmie noodles. And over night accommodations are slim. So pack a lunch for your visit. If you are staying overnight, you may want to bring your own bedding. Or sleep out on a palapa for the night. But it is truly a beautiful island. We walked and swam the day away. Even saw a black tipped shark in the shallows while walking in the water. They are building more overnight cabins, so they would be a good option when done.Written 2 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Karl BVietnam6 contributionsHad a great time here. The island is pretty small, and not used to tourists. There are no places to stay, so you'll have to camp, or know someone who can offer you a room. But be warned, the place is very underdeveloped, with no fresh water and basic toilets.
If you need the comforts of civilisation, then it is advisable to get a boat from Ternate in the morning, to take you to the more secluded beaches. You can probably secure a chartered boat for less than 100,000 IRL.Written 18 March 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Trippin2020Maryland7 contributionsA wonderful beach town for families! We stayed here summer of 2019 and it is a gem. We enjoyed walking to the beach from our apartment with our young son and spending the day.Written 31 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
