Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- lexmillerBurlington, MA1,148 contributionsThe drive from Honningsvag to the North Cape is stunning - the tundra is mesmerizing - and full of reindeer! No trees grow here, so there are unending views of the reindeer, undulating hills, small lakes - beautiful! Note - make sure to spend a day in Honningsvag, a beautiful historical fishing town, lots of cafes, still a working fishing port, small, accessible, clean, yet very busy and vibrant. Once you get to the North Cape, if it's clear, get right out to the point to get some photos as a clear view is pretty rare! You are in the clouds here, so take advantage of a clear sky while you can. The building has lots inside - many museum exhibits, we spent nearly 2 hours reading, exploring, etc - so for those that think this is a "rip off", I don't understand frankly, as there is so much inside the building, so many scientific and historical exhibits. The gift shop is beautiful, many fine products, and there are several cafes - don't miss the waffles!Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RajamoraLos Angeles, CA135 contributionsA visit to the North Cape Information Center at the de facto northernmost outpost of civilization is a traveler’s bucket list achievement marker. Getting there after over an hour’s drive over desolate windswept terrain under unpredictable weather conditions with brief stops at a Sami family reindeer herding site and the Grotten Viewpoint that could reward with flashes of Northern Lights depending on the season is an experience to landmark photograph, walkabout and crow about.Written 31 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GuiHelsinki, Finland77 contributionsThis is not a short hike - it’s >9km one-way and practically all downhill (~300m vertical descent) with the steepest hill towards the end. This means the 9km back is understandably more demanding, so plan accordingly. It took me 7hours (9.30pm-4.30am) to complete the hike with many stops including long photo stops. Note the path is nearly all the way over stones, so be careful where you step - this also makes the hike more tiring than it would otherwise be. The very last part of the hike on the rock face near the sea can be quite slippery especially if wet, so be extra careful - the path is also not so easy to find in that area (though you can go your own path, but with caution). But it’s really worth it, as the achievement to reach the true North Cape is great! Make sure to sign the logbook on arrival :) Bonus: reindeers, birds :)Written 22 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roxana E1 contributionWe had the most incredible experience with Blue Puffin on our aurora chasing tour. It was so much more than just a tour—it was a memory we'll never forget. Our guide and driver were not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, making the entire journey feel personal and special. They went above and beyond, taking us to the perfect spots for the best aurora viewing. The northern lights were absolutely breathtaking, and we were so grateful to have such a wonderful team guiding us to the perfect points. The entire experience was seamless, enjoyable, and unforgettable. We can't recommend Blue Puffin enough for anyone looking for a truly magical way to chase the aurora!Written 18 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BabbyFace132London, UK42 contributionsWe booked a Sami Adventure Tour with Arctic Guide Service a day before we arrived in Honningsvag. The minibus was easy to find just outside the tourist office. Our guide and driver were excellent and stopped to let us take photographs of the amazing arctic fjord scenery and reindeers, which were seen grazing all the way to the North Cape. The views over the cape of endless ocean and cliff coast were amazing. North cape Hall entrance was included in the price and we were allowed ample time to visit the restaurant, gift shop, movie, exhibition and cave of lights. On our return we stopped at the Sami Summer camp in Skipsfjorden and met Anna a reindeer herder. She introduced us to the Sami history and culture in a tradtional Sami Lavvo. We sat around a fire while she sang joik songs, showed us Sami handicrafts and we cooked our own reindeer meat on the fire washed down with a hot drink. She also demonstrated how to catch reindeer using a lasso and we were given the chance to have a go. Overall a very well organised and interesting tour.Written 9 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
