Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- RajamoraLos Angeles, CA135 contributionsA visit to the North Cape Information Center at the de facto northernmost outpost of civilization is a traveler’s bucket list achievement marker. Getting there after over an hour’s drive over desolate windswept terrain under unpredictable weather conditions with brief stops at a Sami family reindeer herding site and the Grotten Viewpoint that could reward with flashes of Northern Lights depending on the season is an experience to landmark photograph, walkabout and crow about.Written 31 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chocolate123Switzerland204 contributionsVery nice and peaceful museum if you took the time to check when Hurtigruten is in town. I would always choose this museum over the one at the "Northkap".
What I liked best were the four movies which are shown on the first floor, all with subtitles.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was no information available unfortunately about the significance of the statue, but research has led us to it being connected with WW2.
Nice to visitWritten 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This means the 9km back is understandably more demanding, so plan accordingly. It took me 7hours (9.30pm-4.30am) to complete the hike with many stops including long photo stops. Note the path is nearly all the way over stones, so be careful where you step - this also makes the hike more tiring than it would otherwise be. The very last part of the hike on the rock face near the sea can be quite slippery especially if wet, so be extra careful - the path is also not so easy to find in that area (though you can go your own path, but with caution). But it’s really worth it, as the achievement to reach the true North Cape is great! Make sure to sign the logbook on arrival :) Bonus: reindeers, birds :)Written 22 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JillClardyRedwood City, CA876 contributionsI only had a brief time to stop in this lovely gallery in the tiny fishing village before getting back on the tour bus after wandering around and taking many pictures of the beautiful scenery. I soon spotted a really nice drawing of a puffin, and since it was our last day in Norway, I knew I was not going to get a chance to see one on this trip, so I bought the print, matted, and signed by the artist and named "Oskar". Eva took a few minutes to tell me the story of the local man named Oskar for whom she had named the puffin. I usually don't bring home many souvenirs of my travels, but this one has a special place on a bookshelf in my office.Written 4 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - machinmadYaxley, UK2,663 contributionsThis is the gateway village to Nordkapp. It has a few cafes and shops, together with the ubiquitous gift shops. We walked the harbour wall and watched the ships come in n out of the fjord and the sea birds dance around them. We climbed up the steep path to the church but it was shut ... the path continues up adjoining mountain, past the grazing reindeer herds.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Renée RSpring Arbor, MI151 contributionsMy TripAdvisor review from 2015 is on the poster for this delightful musical play put on by high school students. Sadly, they weren't doing the presentation today. They said they would have given me a free ticket for the show tomorrow. We're here for only 3 more hours. Next time I'm going to be in town, I'll make a reservation...Written 13 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roxana E1 contributionWe had the most incredible experience with Blue Puffin on our aurora chasing tour. It was so much more than just a tour—it was a memory we'll never forget. Our guide and driver were not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly, making the entire journey feel personal and special. They went above and beyond, taking us to the perfect spots for the best aurora viewing. The northern lights were absolutely breathtaking, and we were so grateful to have such a wonderful team guiding us to the perfect points. The entire experience was seamless, enjoyable, and unforgettable. We can't recommend Blue Puffin enough for anyone looking for a truly magical way to chase the aurora!Written 18 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
