Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- lexmillerBurlington, MA1,150 contributionsThe drive from Honningsvag to the North Cape is stunning - the tundra is mesmerizing - and full of reindeer! No trees grow here, so there are unending views of the reindeer, undulating hills, small lakes - beautiful! Note - make sure to spend a day in Honningsvag, a beautiful historical fishing town, lots of cafes, still a working fishing port, small, accessible, clean, yet very busy and vibrant. Once you get to the North Cape, if it's clear, get right out to the point to get some photos as a clear view is pretty rare! You are in the clouds here, so take advantage of a clear sky while you can. The building has lots inside - many museum exhibits, we spent nearly 2 hours reading, exploring, etc - so for those that think this is a "rip off", I don't understand frankly, as there is so much inside the building, so many scientific and historical exhibits. The gift shop is beautiful, many fine products, and there are several cafes - don't miss the waffles!Written 7 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RajamoraLos Angeles, CA136 contributionsA visit to the North Cape Information Center at the de facto northernmost outpost of civilization is a traveler’s bucket list achievement marker. Getting there after over an hour’s drive over desolate windswept terrain under unpredictable weather conditions with brief stops at a Sami family reindeer herding site and the Grotten Viewpoint that could reward with flashes of Northern Lights depending on the season is an experience to landmark photograph, walkabout and crow about.Written 31 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chocolate123Switzerland191 contributionsVery nice and peaceful museum if you took the time to check when Hurtigruten is in town. I would always choose this museum over the one at the "Northkap".
What I liked best were the four movies which are shown on the first floor, all with subtitles.Written 16 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There was no information available unfortunately about the significance of the statue, but research has led us to it being connected with WW2.
Nice to visitWritten 24 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This means the 9km back is understandably more demanding, so plan accordingly. It took me 7hours (9.30pm-4.30am) to complete the hike with many stops including long photo stops. Note the path is nearly all the way over stones, so be careful where you step - this also makes the hike more tiring than it would otherwise be. The very last part of the hike on the rock face near the sea can be quite slippery especially if wet, so be extra careful - the path is also not so easy to find in that area (though you can go your own path, but with caution). But it’s really worth it, as the achievement to reach the true North Cape is great! Make sure to sign the logbook on arrival :) Bonus: reindeers, birds :)Written 22 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - William KTucson, AZ354 contributionsThe Lithuanian folks who run the gallery are absolutely delightful and the gallery and the art work are fresh and interesting. Nothing is unduly expensive and so we were able to buy several pieces that we could bring aboard ship that didn't take up too much room.Written 4 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JillClardyRedwood City, CA870 contributionsI only had a brief time to stop in this lovely gallery in the tiny fishing village before getting back on the tour bus after wandering around and taking many pictures of the beautiful scenery. I soon spotted a really nice drawing of a puffin, and since it was our last day in Norway, I knew I was not going to get a chance to see one on this trip, so I bought the print, matted, and signed by the artist and named "Oskar". Eva took a few minutes to tell me the story of the local man named Oskar for whom she had named the puffin. I usually don't bring home many souvenirs of my travels, but this one has a special place on a bookshelf in my office.Written 4 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - machinmadYaxley, UK2,655 contributionsThis is the gateway village to Nordkapp. It has a few cafes and shops, together with the ubiquitous gift shops. We walked the harbour wall and watched the ships come in n out of the fjord and the sea birds dance around them. We climbed up the steep path to the church but it was shut ... the path continues up adjoining mountain, past the grazing reindeer herds.Written 1 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Niroza HColombo, null, Sri Lanka215 contributionsThis reserve was established by the environmental authorities to protect seabird colonies, plants and wildlife. A must do activity for bird enthusiasts . You book a boat and take the safari which is the number two attraction in Nordkapp.it is famous for its white tailed eagle . Seasonal birds like the puffins , ravens, razorbills etc are freely flying across during the season.Written 17 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Renée RSpring Arbor, MI151 contributionsMy TripAdvisor review from 2015 is on the poster for this delightful musical play put on by high school students. Sadly, they weren't doing the presentation today. They said they would have given me a free ticket for the show tomorrow. We're here for only 3 more hours. Next time I'm going to be in town, I'll make a reservation...Written 13 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KajsaWargh66 contributionsAs cultural workers we were enchanted to find a house of culture in Honningsvåg! Nice conversations with the owners, delicious local beer, many laughters and a lot of local information gained in a well performed musical by talented local youth. - elizabeth gChester, UK5 contributionsVery sadly this wonderful little gallery is now closed. We've enjoyed several visits over the years to admire and buy some of the innovative and beautiful artwork. All good wishes to the artist, Erika. We hope to see you back again very soon.Written 31 October 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
