Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- gentbruggMoscow2,304 contributionsA canonical example of the style of the Russian classicism, also designed by the famous architect Matvey Kazakov, who was sent to Kolomna by Empress Catherine II. This is interesting in the first place. It is a cultural center, mainly engaged in exhibition activities. There is a hall of the local famous artist Abakumov-this, as I understand, is a permanent exhibition, and three halls for shift exhibitions, where are exhibited paintings, drawings, sculptures, art photography, folk art. In my time it was an exhibition "Art voyage" (international), a collection of figures of dachshunds, made of different materials, from a private collection, and photo exhibition, the name of which I forgot, but which I liked more than others. The author is a photographer-traveler who visited very interesting places and photoed them.Written 1 December 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gentbruggMoscow2,304 contributionsIt is somewhat strange and unusual to see an old merchant's estate as a home for contemporary art, especially not the most mainstream trends. But inside, of course, you forget about it and do not think. To this museum you need to either not come at all, or come more than once - to understand what and what vision of the world, what expressiveness artists put into their works. Not the most understandable art of course, but the search for new forms and visual means in any case is interesting. Not everything is accepted and comprehended at once, but such an unusual and unfamiliar art certainly gives impetus to mental workWritten 3 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gentbruggMoscow2,304 contributionsFor me it was a big surprise that the museum of Russian photography is located in Kolomna, not in Moscow or St. Petersburg. However, the name of the museum is not the essential thing about it. Museum in the academic sense of the word is not the museum of Russian photography. There are permanent exhibitions, a lot of rarities - both photos and even daguerreotypes, and samples of photographic equipment up to the famous "Leica", conducted research activities (issued almanacs, printed three-volume book on the history of photography and other books), there is a preparatory Studio. However, this is the first approach to a real full-fledged museum. This, of course, is not the fault of the creators and organizers of the museum, the reason lies in the bottomlessness and inexhaustibility of this art form. And what these people are doing deserves the highest praise.
Most of all I was impressed by the photo of Vasily Sokkarnov "Surf during the storm" of the last century.
The only bad and even paradoxal thing is that in the Museum of photography is prohibited... photographing.Written 2 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To the right of the entrance there is a passage into the depths, painted in style of graffiti. Inside is held an exhibition of paintings, various installations. Quite interesting and varied design. And a very wide range of services - from tours of the Kremlin and the town to the organization of salons and sales, and not only of souvenirs. What attracted me, the girl on duty of the gallery encourages visitors, offers them to take their time and watch, accentuating on the fact that it's free. Quite unexpectedly in the province to meet non-standard techniques and approaches.
However, then came her boss and began to reprimand her for what she allowed me to photograph.Written 15 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
