Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

However, pharaohs in ancient Egypt already ate some kind of liquorice candies.
Kouvolan Lakritsi (Kouvola Liquorice) is a traditional liquorice company. The factory was opened in 1906 in Vyborg but after the World War II the company was established in Kouvola. Their production in Kouvola started in 1945. They produce handmade carbon-neutral liquorice. Kouvolan Lakritsi was the world's first company which produced liquorice beer. They have produced habanero chili liquorice and sea salt liquorice, too. They also have sent liquorice out in the stratosphere.
Kouvolan Lakritsi opened a factory outlet in November 2022. You can buy many different liquorice candies there, also gluten free products. Even liquorice tea and liquorice coffee are available. Later it will be possible to see there how liquorice is made. There is also a lunch restaurant in the building.Written 17 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reeta AKouvola, Finland12 contributionsThere are actually two different museums, an art museum with exhibitions of all styles of art. Often they offer interesting viewpoints to local artists, but also some international artists as well.
Other museum showcases different aspects of history and life of the area. Very playful ideas in showcasing past life.Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The old wooden buildings are a reminder of Kouvola's railroad history. The area was inhabited mainly by the engine drivers. Most of the buildings were built in the early 20th century.
The beautifully restored buildings serve as workshops for artisans and artists and as boutique shops. You can find also a cafe, called Onnenkukko. Poikilo Museums and Radio Museum are located in the same quarter. Both museums are very interesting and worth a visit.Written 16 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some small shops and a cafe as well. Worth visiting while in Kouvola. A little difficult to get there if you do not have a car.Written 18 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
