We had a really lovely time on this day trip from Bogotá. We were eager to see some of the historic towns and the countryside surrounding Colombia's capital, and this option did not disappoint. Be forewarned that this is a long day trip, beginning at sunrise and extending to well after sunset.

Lorena, our tour guide, and Miguel, our driver, were super kind and helpful to us at every step. They're working very hard at an over 12-hour day, and deserve high praise. ¡Muchas gracias, amigos!

Amazing place to go with your family or kids. There’s a big parking area and the entrance is cheap (15,000COP-18,000COP). The place and dinosaurs are in good conditions. Plus there’s a tour guide.

Kids under 10 cannot go in to pet and feed the ostriches. This is good as ostriches are HUGE and can be quite intimidating. Also, they peck hard. VERY HARD. But they are adorable and I had never seen one up close so that was new. They have a small gift show were you can purchase arts and crafts. I got a ring made with ostrich egg shell, which I think is cool. The whole trip was about an hour long. You go it, see a video, take a small tour where you get to feed ostriches, goats, buffalos, ponies and lamas. It's not a big farm and it is rather rustic, but if you love ostriches it's a must-see. I did not eat the ostrich meat but they have a restaurant where you can if you want to.

My amazing tour guide (Rodolfo) is the best; friendly and attentive to details. Simple and flexible booking experience and wisited sites were simply lovely! Also, very good pricing vs other operators but still top experience.

This was such a fun experience! The tour guide/driver were right on time to pick us up. The Terracotta house was really cool, and the 4-wheeler tour was AMAZING! Villa de Leyva was beautiful, and lunch was delicious. I would recommend paying attention to the weather, and possibly pack a change of clothes/shoes. You may get very muddy on the 4-wheelers, (especially if it rains). We were provided ponchos which helped. Both driver (Michael)and guide (Herman) were great, and I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time on this trip. The village is so beautiful and full of history. The surroundings are worth the visit as well, especially the Casa de Barro. The way there was 3 hours but it was a fun and entertaining conversation with our guide Juan who gave us a very insightful perspective on Colombia's current matters and history. I'd really recommend taking this trip with Impulse.

First, great thanks to Andres ! We contacted him from Canada 4 months in advance and asked to arrange our visit, including hotel, airport transportation, tours. He recommended us Hotel Bicentenario and it was a good choice.

    We had tours:

    1. Villa de Leyva, full day tour. It's about 5 hours one way, but we had a great guide Rodolfo, former English teacher. We got a lot information about all the aspects of life in Colombia, he answered for all our questions about education, medical system, history, agriculture etc. We made a few stops on the way and bought some local fruits - in Canada same fruits are not even close so delicious ! We visited village of RAQUIRA - with a lot of local handicrafts for sale extremely cheap ( nice ponchos for $20 ). The highlight of the day was visiting TERRACOTA HOUSE ( you have to pay minimal fees ) - please do not miss it.

    2. GUATAVITA and ZIPAQUIRA, next full day tour. Our driver was Alex. Alex is a nice person and very knowledgeable guy ! Town of Guatavita was built from scratch in 1960-s to accomodate local people who need to leave their homes because of the construction of the dam. What a nice place ! There is even a arena Plaza de Toros ! There is no corrida in Colombia any more so this arena is used for concerts and events. Then we visited national park and a lake in the mountains ( about two hours with a local guide ). Salt caves and a church were not a highlights of the day for us.

    3. Bogota City Tour, 4 hours. Our guide was Marcel, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guy too. We visited local market - so colorful because of HUNDREDS of different fruit types, thousands of flowers... We visited north of the city ( area #5 ), rich neighborhood with interesting architecture and well dresses people...

Actually, ALL our guides had a mission to promote Colombia, to explain, that it is not the country of Pablo Escobar, it's a country of great people, interesting history and amazing nature !!!

After that - without guides - we visited Museum Botero - very good. The other two museums are real disappointments: there is no gold in Gold Museum, the Emerald Museum is really a kind of shop on the 22nd floor, where after 20 min of a movie and a tour they want to sell you emerald jewellery for exorbitant prices. In the little shops on the same street you can buy the same three times cheaper.

General impression: government makes a lot to attract tourists, there are policemen and army on each corner, we feel ourselves safe. We would gladly to come to Colombia again to visit other places.

We really enjoyed the trip to Villa de Leyva. Our Guide was very kind and helpful and could tell us a lot about the history of the town. I went with my baby and my husband everything was on time, therefore, we enjoy a lot of places.

    Thank you for the expirience!

My guide throughout the tour was Gerald & the driver was Miguel. They were punctual from the time picking me up & made sure we did everything planned for the tour. Since it was just me, both made me feel very safe & comfortable the whole time. Gerald was also very knowledgeable when it came to Villa de Leyva. The town & its history were definitely special & one of a kind. Villa de Leyva was definitely one of my favorite stops in Colombia. It should be visited by every tourist that stops through Bogota. THANK YOU Gran Colombia Tours for pairing me with one of the BEST tours, tour guides, & drivers.
