Nice and well-organized beach with sunbed and umbrella hire attended to by nice helpful staff. The beach is clean. It’s not huge but everyone seems to manage a sun and a swim.

The village, harbour and surroundings are beautiful and nice to wander round. For lunch we walked waaay anticlockwise round the harbour to the end of the jetty and a lovely restaurant that looks like a flying saucer – I’ll review this separately.

The “Little Venice” bit is perhaps a tiny bit overstated but it’s very pretty anyway and worth a look.

We really enjoyed our day in this pretty place.

Bit of a hike for us oldies!! plenty of rest places going up. Get to the top and you realise why you went. What an excellent view of all Mogan and beyond. Make the effort and do it!! You will not regret.

We followed the marked trail starting from the wind mill in Mogán and running east of the main road to Puerto de Mogán's northern part. Medium difficulty and a soon quite dramatic landscape with nothing newer than a couple of thousand years old in sight.

The only time-sensitive event we wanted to go to on this holiday was the Friday market at Puerto de Mogan as I'd heard great things about the fresh local produce on sale there (I was particularly looking forward to the avocados and mangoes). However, we didn't find a single stall offering these. Instead, there are a lot of items that you could find at almost any market - clothes (mostly loose fitting linen or cotton items) souvenirs (mainly leather goods or carved wooden items), and little else. At this point I'm referring to the stretch of market that runs from the SuperDino to the start of the run of shops.

I purposely sought out the locally crafted items and managed to find some that were nice, especially the resin and wood pendants. But the majority of stalls were underwhelming. Read on for a pleasant surprise at another part of the market, but first a quick word about food...

Most of the places round that part of the market serve the usual meat/fish dishes so I struggled as a vegan but we did find a nice place (Bar Restaurante Killo) that was a bit quieter and which served potaje (a Canarian-style vegetable soup), roasted padrón peppers, and papas arrugadas (Canarian potatoes) so that was nice. The service was friendly and the food was tasty.

Then we wandered down Avenida Tomás Roca Bosch towards the beach, popping in and out of the shops and getting a few bargains in the process. When we reached the Playa (beach), we discovered another part to the market and this is where things improved.

Although there were still many of the obligatory clothes stalls, several were also home to local artists and these were by far the best interactions, with the artists themselves having a friendly and enthusiastic manner. I bought several prints from one stall and at another, a hand-painted rock that was personalised on the spot. We also snacked on fresh pretzels that were far too delicious!
So my advice is to avoid most of the first stretch of the market and instead focus on the area around the Plaza del Sol and the westward arm of the harbour.

As far as parking is concerned, we found a space by the SuperDino but at 9am it was already very busy so if you're going there, I'd advise that you arrive no later than 9, possibly even earlier (the market officially runs from 8am to 2pm). I can't comment on parking closer to the marina though, so you might have to take your chances with that.

There's another market on Mondays which apparently has more of the craft artisan stalls so unless you're only after run-of-the-mill market stalls, maybe try that day instead.
The 3 stars are for the nice stalls we found at the end, and for the area which is nice and clean with plenty of places to grab an ice cream (or fruit sorbet) to counteract the heat.

This decent sized shopping Centre was located straight opposite our hotel so we called in a few times.

It has a decent mix of bars, restaurants and shops but there wasn’t much that interested us.

We did use the supermarket a lot which was very handy and had a great range of products.

It is just about worth a walk out of town but probably not more than once!

Great bar just off the harbour/marina. Few tables outside to people watch and a TV inside if you want to watch football. Reasonable prices and big measures. A lot of locals and residents pop in here so it didn't feel overly touristy. The owner - Oscar - runs the bar and was hospitable chatting with new customers and regulars alike.

Don’t do what I did and discover Lenka’s yoga on your last day in Puerto de Mogan. An accessible class, very well taught, in a relaxing environment. Just the way to start the day…

Trip advisor says I have to write 100 words for a review but all I want to do is let people know that Cuba Libra has been renamed Revolution in Porte de Mogan. I'm here on holiday at the moment in Jan 2017 and failed to find the bar, but cycle hire shop put me straight. Well, that must be close to 100 words now!

Just seen Johnny Amobi perform at Anfi in Gran Canaria and did he get people out there singing and dancing!! As soon as Johnny Amobi started singing people of all ages just came to watch, sing and dance. It was like a lively party. He was very entertaining and the crowd thoroughly enjoyed his show. He's a talented singer and was very engaging with the crowd. He's worth seeing. Truly entertaining.

My young daughter went there twice for the foot experience and it was a real laugh watching her laugh as the fish pampered her tiny feet. Well worth a visit.

Had a beautiful boat trip and saw a big group of dolphins. The boat was perfect and we shared it with 6 other people - way better than the touristy packed boats. The trip was great, we stopped for a swim and had some great snacks. The captain is very friendly and tells you all interesting things. We loved it, thank you so much! 10/10 would recommend 🙌
