Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very cool castle that I definitely recommend to visit. An adult ticket was 10€ and it took us 2 hours inside the castle, i.e. in the museum. Be sure to reserve at least half an hour for a walk outside. The castle is very large inside and there are endless different rooms. In the meantime, it felt like we were getting lost because there were so many moves. Quite a lot of different exhibitions can be accommodated there. I recommend taking an audio guide as well, from there you can learn a lot more about the history of the fortress.

Definitely a must go-to place with kids! Our kids (9 and 11) had a blast. The people who work there were very kind and guided the kids very well. Also, fun games for the kids. (Little tip: If you don't want them to start the tour with the torture chamber, just tell them!) There is so much more to see and to experience! Kids loved it.

Some museums are really worth a visit. That's how I felt about the Saare Kek Museum. Fascinating and well-curated, this museum tells a story of living in Estonia during the 70s and 80s Soviet occupation. It is filled with interesting objects and personal stories that make you stop and appreciate life today.

The exhibition said that if the smallest budget-supermarket of today's Estonia could be transported back into the 1980s, it would have been by far the best shop in the Soviet block and people would have organised shopping trips to it from all over Estonia and even other states.

Also, all exhibits translated into English, Russian, Finnish, and Estonian.

Nice spot for an evening stroll in Kurressare, and why not enjoy it with a mythical tale of the area.
The sculpture depicts Suur Tõll , a mythical hero of the island Saaremaa, and his wife Piret.
According to the Legend, Sõrve peninsula was important to Tõll, as from there he reached the shortest way to the island Ruhnu, where he had his cabbage field. When his wife Piret started to make a fire under the cauldron, then Tõll went through the sea to his cabbage field and came back in half an hour, so that he could hand Piret the cabbages when the water had just started to boil.

The food in this restaurant is of a good quality and copious. We enjoyed 2 meals there. We also visited the windmill on several floors which is very interesting.

Was nice to visit during the holiday season with a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations. Just very relaxing and antique-feeling. There's also plenty of restaurants there and a nice old church.

Memorial to those who fought for the First Period of Latvian Independence 1918-1920. It is located right in the middle of town and is perfect to stroll by in the evening after a good dinner.

Kuressaare is well known among Estonians for its numerous attractive vintage & antique shops! The number of little boutiques is substantial for a small city of 13 000 inhabitants This vintage & antique boutique "eAntiik" is one of the biggest, offering an impressive selection of items. Many cool vintage items date back to the Soviet era! When speaking with the owner, we learned that the items have been hand-picked carefully by her. The building itself belonged to the great-great-grandfather of the hostess, who was a tailor. This Kauba Street has always been a street for local boutiques – already “Kauba” in Estonian means “merchandises” in English.

After shopping in the COOP Supermarket, we walked around the town center, now undergoing renovation, and spotted the tall white tower of this church and decided to enter.
After the vestibule, the second door opened to the interior and we were overwhelmed with organ music. It turns out there was a recital and after several minutes, the organist descended the back stairs to congregation applause and received a bouquet of flowers at the front. Beautiful white interior columns, pews, and altar.

If you are looking for something old and real - this is it! Beutiful old tiny city in Saarenmaa island in Estonia. We spent three nights in Georg Ots Spa - rooms were basic standard, spa department and treatments were ok.
