- Colin BMaidstone, UK236 contributionsIf you are looking to visit this church then be aware that the 1.5km walk here is very steep and on cobbles. If you are not very fit then just take your time as it is exhausting and wear supported shoes or trainers. I did this walk everyday for two weeks as it was near where I was staying so if you are fit you will do the climb in about 10 mins. However I saw many people really struggling. You can take a breather and look in each of the chapels as you walk up so it’s possible to make the journey up take a long time. Your reward will be an amazing view up and down the lake. The church itself is amazing and the paintings on the ceiling beautiful. You can light a candle here for a donation. There is a small cafe behind the church. A can of drink or a coffee is around 3 euros.
Unless your kids like a good walk and would appreciate the view and church it worth doing.
There is a very small amount of parking at the bottom and another free car park further down the hill.
If you can go very early morning you can watch the sun rise and it’s extremely serine.

It’s a beautiful island with a stunning view and one of the finest restaurants at the lake. The location is very well cultivated the view is just amazing and the service is just perfect. Thanks to the whole team. They have made our day unforgettable!
