Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    The nature is beatiful!
I love the different colours and vegetation.
It is very particular, I have never seen something like that. The guide was very kind and it was interesting to hear the tour.

This tour was one of the high points of our trip to Ireland in October.

The Lally Tour bus, which started just two doors down from our hotel (The Park House Hotel) normally carries about 16 people but on that particular day only my wife and I had signed up. The tour manager nevertheless let the tour proceed. One advantage is that we got to talk more conversationally with Michael, the tour’s driver/guide, and he was great. Michael was friendly, respectful and had a weath of knowledge. He couldn’t have been more welcoming.

There was a bit of dampness in the air around Aughnanure Castle, but not enough to slow things done. (We learned that the day before the roads around the Castle had flooded out, and that that day’s passengers had not been able to tour the Castle grounds.) At the Castle, Giles, another great guide, gave us a very informative talk on the Castle’s history, with special attention to its architectural details (details that we would have missed just looking at the structure with uninformed eyes.) The winding stone stairs inside the Castle to the third floor are steep but we found them manageable.

We later visited the Joyce farm where sheep dogs are trained to follow verbal commands (and as a bonus we were able to play with half a dozen or so puppies who were sheep-dogs-in-waiting.)The owner gave a short but entertaining talk about his dogs and his sheep, and then set one of his dogs up the hill to round up and bring down a dozen or so sheep. It was very impressive. And the Connemara countryside was truly breathtaking throughout the day.

Michael then drove us to Cong, making stops here and there to let us take pictures at sites where the movie The Quiet Man (1952) with John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara had been filmed. (We had seen that movie and remembered it well; if you do take this tour, and haven’t seen that film, I’d recommend trying to see it somehow.) In Cong, we ate at lovely café that Michael recommended.

My wife and I had a wonderful time on this tour, and recommend it highly if you visit the city of Galway.

When we first arrived at Ashford Castle we were greeted by the boat and transported to the Castle. Later we enjoyed a more extensive cruise of the lake and were provided with varied information and history of the castle, the lake and its surroundings. Patrick followed in the family footsteps having started as a lad and then taking over the business from his father. Well worth the journey.

The tour was very interesting. I want to watch “The Quiet Man” again so I can notice all the details the tour guide was talking about!

Our group of five friends had a very pleasurable day traveling from the port of Galway to the beautiful Cliffs of Moher and several scenic stops in the county Clare Burren to view the rocky landscape with lovely natural flowers. Our driver tour guide Tony was a pleasure to travel with. He was informative and entertaining with a delightful sense of humor. Tony even went out of his way to deliver a bag accidently left in his vehicle back to the Galway port and gave it to the cruise line staff so it could be returned to the cruise ship before it departed. This was above and beyond expectations! I highly recommend Wild Atlantic Way Day Tours and tour driver guide Tony.

When my husband and I planned our once in a lifetime visit to Ireland, we told our travel agency that the main reason I had always dreamed of going to Ireland was because of The Quiet Man movie. You could say I’m a Quit Man crazy fan!! My #1 site to see in Ireland was the Quiet Man Museum. You can imagine my heart break when our travel agent told us at the last minute that the museum was closed for the season. I was devastated!! My husband relayed our disappointment with them telling them they should have checked into that right away before we booked our trip in October 2023.
Well they came through for us and contacted the folks that run the museum and they very graciously opened the museum just for us for a private visit!! Gerry met us at the museum. He was outstanding!! It was so surreal for me. He told us his family history with the movie. Several of his family members were extras in the film. Not only did he give us a private tour of the museum, he took us on a private tour in his car to the sites where the picture was filmed in the city of Cong. Words cannot express my Joy. I will be forever grateful to Gerry and his gracious hospitality and to our travel agency. They made my dream come true!!
If you ever are blessed to take a trip to Ireland make sure you visit this site, you won’t regret it!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU a hundred times over!!!

This tour is worth every penny and so much better than the large bus tours that are so regimented. It was relaxing to have someone else do the driving and have the knowledge to provide you with history and fun facts about Ireland along the way. We were lucky enough to spend time with both James and Taufeeq, and they both did an amazing job of personalizing the tour for us - from a detour to Sean's Bar in Athlone to a last minute boat tour of the Cliffs of Moher. Some of the stand out moments on the tour were the fjord boat cruise, the Kylemore Abby, the sheep herding demonstration, walking around Galway, and the Cliffs of Moher (if the weather cooperates, definitely do the boat tour!) However, what made us absolutely fall in love with the country, were the people. Take the time to get to know your drivers and the locals. Everyone we met along the way were so happy and nice and have a true love of their country.

This bike tour with Steve was such a wonderful experience. Everything from the coffee and the quick get to know you chat, through lunch and the afternoon trails was perfect for our couples getaway. The weather cooperated for being a late fall booking and the views were EXCEPTIONAL. Steve was a great guide and his knowledge of the area was helpful. We would never have been able to find those trails or those spots on our own!
