You can go inside the Abbey and the tower across the street which all have no roof. The graveyard of brothers is large and the grounds are kept nice.

The statue is a great tourist attraction with bunches of folks posing being carried. The corner across from the Abbey is a nice location.

The fishing hut of stone is perched out in the running river. The stone walkway is a tightrope walk across to the hut. The monks had some consciences out here including water and a fireplace

The museum itself was closed when we were there, but it was nice to stroll by and see the thatched roof house replica from the movie. Across the street was a wishing well and a beautiful river to walk along.

I loved the walks through Cong Wood. There are a number to choose from as you walk to the trailhead behind Cong Abbey.
I didn't do them all but spent a lovely couple of hours happily exploring the wood which is run by Coillte, a state forester.
Really well laid out with coloured markers, so leave full and quiet. All are easy hikes, it just depends in the length of the ones you choose as to whether it is taxing or not. There's a display board by the bridge behind Cong Abbey that outlines them all. Fantastic place.

A required stop for any Quiet Man fan. Informative staff, even though I'm sure they've answered the same questions hundreds of times.

This is currently closed off but there’s a sizeable hole in the fence to access it if you’re up to the job. The steps were leaf and mud ridden but I spent some time today cleaning a pathway down. Well worth the decent. The current was strong today, feels magical down there. Didn’t spot the white trout today.

Beautiful walk through Cong Wood to get to the tower. It looked beautiful peeking through the trees. Worth the climb to the top the view was stunning.

The statue is a lovely element in the street scene that has the Cong River in the background. The dark finish gives it deep haunting depth.

It's easy to imagine the Abbey in its heyday nestled in such an idyllic location. An enjoyable stroll through the ruins to the fishing lodge over the river.

It was lovely to pop in and admire the stain glass window panels.
It was also nice to take a few moments of private reflection and thought.
