Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff were friendly but it was difficult to get the most of this educational center as there was no English translation, obviously geared only for the locals, but we still had a nice conversation with the employee on duty about the area and the park.

The spa is located within Break Sokos Hotel Koli. The view from the spa is absolutely breathtaking, showing the tall spruces, surrounding nature and the beautiful lake Pielinen.

The visitors are advised to keep their voices low and leave their mobile phones outside the spa area, since this place is for relaxation, peace and serenity. For the same reason the place is childfree from 4 p.m. which is absolutely wonderful.

For some reason some parents find this offensive against them. I don't understand. There are lots of places for families with kids around Finland, so why on earth would it be offensive to offer services only for adults for a change? AND the spa is open also for kids before 4 p.m. but I must say that this spa is not meant to be a place for kids. There are no water slides, no pool toys, or anything else "kids stuff". The place offers seats to relax, hot tubs, cold pool, jacuzzi, outside hot tubs which was wonderful to experience when it was -6c outside 8 (remember to take a warm beanie with you for outside bath experience during wintertime), three different saunas, music pool with underwater music, foot bath with icy cold water and then warm water, different showers and a lovely relaxation room with lovely heated stone beds for a total relaxation experience. Swimsuit it required in all the areas of the spa, except the locker rooms which are separate for men and women.

The spa is a bit pricey, but with the entrance fee you get a package with spa products and if you are entering the spa with a friend, you also get a bottle of wine of your choice (bubbly, red, white) with you. It is very luxurious to sip some sparkling wine while enjoying the view.

I would definitely recommend this spa.

The spa is ok, however needs some improvements. We visited the spa with our 10 months old baby. There was no table etc where to change the swimming nappy and suit for the baby.
Also the spa has no cafeteria should one want something to eat after swimming.
The saunas were nice, I liked the aroma sauna the most. The pools are small, however as we were almost the only people there, they were quite adequate.

I love horses and horseback riding (once settled in), but since I have little to no experience, each time I climb on a horse I tend to tense up and feel very anxious and I take very long to feel safe and content, partially due to some scary experiences in the past. The same riddled me this time around, however the horses could not be better for an inexperienced, nervous rider like myself. They were calm, obedient, followed the convoy without any trouble and didn’t even get frustrated with each other. The guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and even provided the tour in English even though we were the only party out of the group that required it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the beautiful landscapes of Koli in a more unique way. ❤️

The people from KOLI Activ Oy and their restaurant Alamaja are the kindest people we have met in a long time. Service- minded, kind & genuine. A great place with greater people. The restaurant serves amazing food. Mika & Kata and their staff make sure to organise anything active possible in the national park of KOLI . Kids are more than welcome at this place. Can recommend this gem to anyone who visits Karelia, Finland.
