Just amazing... The world doesn't end here it starts. Scenery, eateries and time all merge into an experience not a trip. We eat at a fantastic "pink" tavern on the side of Clew bay.

    Achill Island is stunningly beautiful.
If you are anywhere…this is a must.

We ate at the Beehive…an Irish crafts and excellent restaurant. The brown bread was the best I have ever had.
The owner…Patricia’s grandmother’s recipe. Worth the drive.

Great little visitor centre offering an aquatic experience as well as a fantastic chronicle of the local history. We were welcomed by Elaine who was most welcoming and extremely knowledgeable of the area. The centre is great for adults and children, there is also a well stocked shop selling gifts, tea, coffee etc. Well worth a drop by.

Stayed nearby here on a recent visit to Achill, fascinating place set on the slopes of Slievemore. Only done part of the walk as we had young kids still a lot to see

After 3 nights in this site I was sorry leaving.. Lovely relaxed site and very children friendly. With a gem of a beach within walking distance ..I got my drivers mirror broke in travel but 30 mins after arriving Joe and one of his friends were over with a mirror and fixed it for me.. I could not fault this site what so ever and without question will be back..

Found this loop walk while cycling the Atlantic drive. Very clearly marked trail offering amazing views over the Sound and then the Atlantic. Be prepared for the weather and for sections to be wet underfoot. Well worth the effort.

We were told about this attraction by a gentleman working in the Westport House Camping and Caravan Park. The roadway up to the summit is narrow in places but we made it up in a motorhome so it's not too challenging. You have to be careful on the descent. The climb is well worth it.

Ruin of a tower, located just next to a road. Nice view of it's not too foggy. It is definitely worth visiting after reading at least a bit about Grainne

If you have been to one fairy trail you have been to them all was my view before our visit but the amount of thought that went into this places it above any other trails I have been to. When we arrived there was nobody to be seen. We tried the entrance shed-no answer, we tried the hostel-no answer, we tried the bar area-no answer & should have poured myself a pint. Maybe they were away with the faries? Eventually a female staff member appeared but she was going home. Anyway she advised just to go in, so we did. Once inside, each section of the trail has a brief history of what type of fairy lived there, some even have some medieval games to play. All the houses are 3D and the real thing not just plaques on trees. They are also individual and hand made. The trail is short and it wont take long so I would suggest its done along with a restaurant booking.

Beautiful view on clear day. Recommend good boots. Steep hike up but worth it. Good place to have picnic .

Achill's heritage center is fantastic. Very rich place and tells in detail the life of the people who lived there. Vincent English is the owner and as a guide he can take you wherever you wish and tell the fascinating stories of each place. Simply a must see! Still has a gift shop with several local souvenirs that you can buy.
Incredible!!! I'll be back whenever I can.

So much history and tragedy here in this wild place overlooking the sea. The memorials to the two great Achill tragedies ( Clew Bay and Scotland) recall the unbearable sorrow experienced by this small island community.. Since I first came to Achill 14 years ago, several friends have passed away and are buried in this quiet graveyard. Despite this, there is an overwhelming sense of peace and tranquillity here.

I visited Ronan’s gallery in August 2019 and purchased some of his beautiful work, the visit was an unexpected treat and one of the highlights of my trip to Achill, I was surprised at how well the mirrors and lamp transitioned from the studio in the wilds of Achill to a small house in Dublin, Ronan kindly followed up on my query about hanging the mirrors and they are a delightful addition to the room, I hope to visit again some time this Summer and add to my collection, thank you Ronan and Mandy

Achill Secret Garden is beautiful on many levels: its old and beautiful trees, the landscaped gardens, the colourful flowers, (happy) insects, fascinating smells, the rich vegetable gardens, sculptures ... not to mention the lovely owners. If you are vaguely interested in botany, gardening, arts, aestethics and friendly people, make sure you visit Achill Secret Garden.
