Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Mitchell N StarrScarborough, UK37 contributionsWe tried several different beaches whilst on holiday in Grande-Terre and this was one of our favourites. It has a nice sandy beach, shade under the trees, it's safe for swimming and it's quite good for snorkeling (quite a lot of fish to look at). There's also a restaurant, public toilets and fresh water showers. Car parking is a bit limited so you need to get there early to grab a spot. The only downside is that there is a lot of unsightly leaf litter under the trees but you get that on all of the beaches.Written 14 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom ZPlacida, FL314 contributionsThe cab driver who took us from the cruise port told us we were going to Le Gosier Beach. It was part of the Resort Gosier, next to Hotel Fleur d’Epee. I could not find this exact beach location on TripAdvisor, but it is on the coast and part of the Plague de la Datcha (Datcha Beach) area. I think it may be around the point at the end of Datcha Beach. It took about 20 mins. by taxi from the cruise port to get here ($30US each way).
Very surprised about the road infrastructure on Guadeloupe. Much more developed than other Caribbean islands.
This is a small but really nice beach area with coconut palms for shade. Also, we found nice lounge chairs (free). I guess they are part of the hotel(s). There are a few hotels in this area. There is a beach bar/rest., but it is kinda pricey - part of the hotel - 5EU for a beer, and 20EU for a burger - Jeez!
But the beach and views of Point-A-Pitre are great, with boats passing by - like ferries and freighters coming in and out of the port.
We had a nice day here, very relaxing and the swimming was nice.
The cab driver basically let us off next to the hotel, and we walked down the road on the right to the beach. Kind of a hidden place, unless you stay at the hotels.Written 1 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada81,657 contributionsThe beach was small, but we can still have 20 to 30 people.
Many kids like this beach because of the swimming pool. It is free. they do great here near the pool.
We were walking nearby and ended on another beach. That was cool!
This is worthwhile to see
