Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent small museum run by the owners which cover different aspects of different groups of people (African, European, etc...) and culture, traditions, and costumes in Guadeloupe and other islands. It focuses on day to day living and the curators have their own items as well as those sourced from locals. They divide tour duties and do a phenomenal job explaining the various exhibits. There are also movies we unfortunately didn't have time to see which provide additional information. Plan on at least couple of hours for a visit to not feel rushed. And be prepared for some amazing sidebar conversations. Well worth a visit.

Easy to take the shuttle from Le Gosier to the island. No bathroom on the island but lots of chickens. There is a café, we had slow service but the homemade coconut flan is worth any wait! Crystal clear water for snorkelling and shallow lagoon making it safe for children. Well worth the boat ride.

We tried several different beaches whilst on holiday in Grande-Terre and this was one of our favourites. It has a nice sandy beach, shade under the trees, it's safe for swimming and it's quite good for snorkeling (quite a lot of fish to look at). There's also a restaurant, public toilets and fresh water showers. Car parking is a bit limited so you need to get there early to grab a spot. The only downside is that there is a lot of unsightly leaf litter under the trees but you get that on all of the beaches.

The aquarium is quite small, most of the basins are small like the one you have in your living room. There are 3 or for bigger ones. The best is with sharks and turtles, but you can find better in almost every sea aquarium.

The cab driver who took us from the cruise port told us we were going to Le Gosier Beach. It was part of the Resort Gosier, next to Hotel Fleur d’Epee. I could not find this exact beach location on TripAdvisor, but it is on the coast and part of the Plague de la Datcha (Datcha Beach) area. I think it may be around the point at the end of Datcha Beach. It took about 20 mins. by taxi from the cruise port to get here ($30US each way).
Very surprised about the road infrastructure on Guadeloupe. Much more developed than other Caribbean islands.
This is a small but really nice beach area with coconut palms for shade. Also, we found nice lounge chairs (free). I guess they are part of the hotel(s). There are a few hotels in this area. There is a beach bar/rest., but it is kinda pricey - part of the hotel - 5EU for a beer, and 20EU for a burger - Jeez!
But the beach and views of Point-A-Pitre are great, with boats passing by - like ferries and freighters coming in and out of the port.
We had a nice day here, very relaxing and the swimming was nice.
The cab driver basically let us off next to the hotel, and we walked down the road on the right to the beach. Kind of a hidden place, unless you stay at the hotels.

Boggles the mind for what it took to build these forts. Great history, we walked through the old fort. Unfortunately most of it is underground, it has vents you can see but gates on all the openings. Looks like it would be very interesting if they would open it up for visitors and have guided tours.

The beach was small, but we can still have 20 to 30 people.

Many kids like this beach because of the swimming pool. It is free. they do great here near the pool.

We were walking nearby and ended on another beach. That was cool!

    This is worthwhile to see

    I liked that!
