Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a beautiful place! It was a very pleasant walk up the hill. The whole cultural heritage is being renovated. Well done. Absolutely worth visiting.

the mansion is furnished with many pieces of the original itinerary of the 15-17 centuries
The saga of the Coburg family made me realize their contribution not only to the development of Europe, but also their legacy for the present

After the quarantine we visited two "mining towns": Kremnica and Banska Stiavnica last week. Both are nice historic places, we loved them. In the centre of this town you can found the Main square with the Holy Trinity Column which was built after the great plague epidemic (1710-11). This square was the most important forum of the town in the past. Nowadays there are some restaurants and bars around and you can taste the good Slovak beer or wine.

This Castle has an other name, too: Girl Castle. It can be seen from everywhere in the town because it lies on a hill. It was built between 1554-1571 against the Turkish attacks. It belongs several ghost- and witch-legends. It has 4 corner towers and 24 cannons. This Renaissance Castle has a rich history, and some important functions: eg.: clocktower, belltower etc. Today it's a museum. You can see lots of flags and arms there. The view is breathtaking, you can see the whole town.

It was our second time to visit this nice town. After the long quarantine we enjoyed walking in this calm historic town. It's a beautiful mining town which lies "under the mountains". (The view is beautiful). It was a free royal city and very rich town in 14-15.th century. It was one of the richest silver mining town of Europe in the past. It's the part of the Unesco World Heritage site from 1993. I liked walking in the old town among the renovated old historic buildings. My favourites: Old and New Castles, Main Square (Trojice) with the Plague column. There are lots of good restaurants and cafes, too.

It had been built from the year cca 1450, finished in 1490 and was consecrated in 1500 A.D. There are nice stained glass windows and lot of side chapels. It is a late Gothic temple in the heart of Banská Štiavnica. It is one of "must see" places in the town.

Very interesting statue that features a trio of archangels. The Virgin Mary is crushing a monster and the whole statue dominates the square.

Situated between the old and new castles, opposite the tea shop Klopacka, Schemnitz Gallery is house in a traditional, Stiavnica villa. The exhibition was interesting and I especially enjoyed the film shown in a curtained off area.

if they wouldn't be renovating the road so that we had to walk through that door, on our way to the new castle, i do not think we would notice them.

Castle ruins are just 20 min walking 🚶‍♀️ from Sitno mountain ⛰ top. It originates from 13th century. Today there are few walls and great 👍 view from steep cliff. It is great to connect with climbing Sitno mountain 🏔 and ruins visit. Good shoes 👞, drink 🥤, snack and plan B with clothes when having tricky weather. Food 🥘 and drinks 🍸 available in cottage on the top of Sitno mountain ⛰

By the time we got there it was shut so we could not go inside. The exterior leads one to believe that going inside would be worthwhile!

Lakie many other places on Earth, this wonderful building has lost its original function. It works now as a beer brewery of the neighbouring ERB restaurant, Therefore only from outside!
