Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Isabella Sommer17 contributionsamazing floating bar! If you visit the Corn Islands, you need to plan a stop here! You pay 10 USD and get 6 "bit coins" (unfortunately plastic, not real) which you can use to buy drinks. A beer is one bit coin. In between drinks you can jump into the beautiful ocean to cool off!
But attention: another floating bar recently opened just right next to Bit Coin Island Bar, basically copying the idea and trying to take customers from here. If you visit, make sure to visit the ORIGINAL.
To get picked up by boat you can either text them in advance on Instagram, just wave at the beach (the other bar´s boat will probably try to collect you first but make sure you go in the right boat) or ask at the bar at the beach. It wasn't anything too intense so great for beginners. Would recommend to anyone!Written 21 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrrlstephenEdinburgh, UK193 contributionsI contacted Dolphin Dive to make an enquiry about diving to see dolphins.
In short, due to my Brazilian girlfriend not speaking English, and, on reflection, my age, as 45 passed me by last century, they were unable to help.
Adam, however did suggest other possibilities on the island.
So why am I wrting this?
I sent my email at 17:44 today (a Sunday) and just 12 minutes later I received a very detailed and helpful reply - to someone (me) who is most unlikely to be a customer.
To me, this is indicative of customer service at the highest level, and if this is an example of how Dolphin Dive operates, I really wish I was going to be a customer.

The main instructor and his team were very professional and knew how to prepare the best ‘Rondon’ dish on the island.Written 13 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ryan KLoveland, CO4 contributionsAlphonso is the man. I went Multiple days with Alphonso on his boat. He is very knowledgeable very skilled super affordable and a professional guide. He had me on specific species immediately and many opportunities for me to casts. Every day was a success. I am a fly shop owner and travel all over to fly fish. This was an amazing experience fly fishing and vey recommend . Caught a lot of bone fish!!! Can’t wait to come back. Best part he had me fishing at all times. If we were moving to a different place to fish. He had me trolling (which I have never done with a fly rod) and I was picking up fish to fight. Such a great idea!!Written 8 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Cannot wait to do the sunset cruise next timeWritten 23 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - tekaboatSeattle85 contributionsMy friend and I went to Little Corn especially for the fishing. Unfortunately, the wind blew 20-25 knots the whole 11 days we were there in late February and early March. However, we did go fishing four times. Here are some comments about the experiences:
1. Alfonso. Charged $150 for two (4 hours) after first asking for $100 each per hour per person. He was obviously knowledgeable about where to fish, but his equipment was very poor. He did not even have a knife to cut bait for bottom fishing. No life preservers, no water, no emergency signal except cell phone. Caught one 4 pound barracuda trolling and a number of bottom fish. Would not use again.
2.Elvis. Pretty much the same as Alfonso but he charged only $100. He had only two rods. One very large, heavy duty and one old spinning rod with a right hand retrieve for left handed people. Caught bottom fish. Several trolling strikes, no catches.
3. Captain Willy. Best equipment of all the native guides. Boat was a bit smaller at 19 ft boat had a nice padded seat which was really appreciated. Charged $100 for both of us for 4 hours. Again, a few trolling strikes, but no fish except when bottom fishing. I caught a 10 pound shark on my light spinning rod. We cooked one of the fillets and it was quite good.
4. Captain Chris. An American living on the island has a well equipped boat and is very experienced. Charges $150 for two for 4 hours. He has a 4 cycle (no fumes) outboard and excellent rods and bait. He only trolls. We trolled all the way around the island and caught one small King Mackerel. Again wind was strong and the seas 6-7 feet.
If you are a serious fisherman, you need to bring your own fishing equipment for all except Chris. You may want to bring a life preserver as well and a pad to sit on would be great. Plan on bringing clothes that can be wet as the boats are not very dry. If you take a tendency toward motion sickness bring some pills to prevent it. Fishing is supposed to be good for Dorado in late April and May. Weather may also be calmer.Written 18 March 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Joey was very flexible and allowed us to go at sunset. Although it was cloudy, it was still pretty sweet to admire the island from the Caribbean Sea. Joey offers guided and non-guided tours. He’s got a lot of experience so you’ll be in good hands. He also took pictures of us which was a nice touch and great souvenir.Written 2 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarlonZurich, Switzerland5 contributionsTook my 10 dives package and it was absolutely great, thanks to Vicky and Brandon, I miss them already and do hope that I can come back asap. Pretty relaxed diving, small groups and a bit of unforgettable adventure, I loved it so much. It's the only place I visited twice and I can recommend it to anyone who is interested in good dives and great accompany. - SimbaRotterdam, The Netherlands46 contributionsIt hard to give this place the correct rating, therefore just average.
A lot of reviews are from the time Nacho was still the owner. Please ignore them and just use the reviews of 2019 since what I think French took over this place. The opening times are not correct so just use the number as stated to contact them via WhatsApp to know if you can plan on kiting some sessions. There site will not help you at all and there Facebook information is limited.
I stood there for a closed door, but they told me via WhatsApp that they would be open in January again.
Be prepaired to pay a bit more than other activities on this Island. It is an expensive sport and if kite gear breaks the closed repair spot is at mainland Nicaragua or Costa Rica.
The way I look at the conditions of this kite spot it is not ideal for beginners. No shallow waters and not a large beach as safety margin. Nevertheless, me as a experienced kiter would definitely rent some gear here for 1 or 2 hours. I am jealous at everyone that had a session at this spot.Written 27 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
