This was a very comprehensive tour of North Shore that highlights some of the most popular activities in the area! General FYI: once you book this tour, you will receive a call or text to your phone confirming your tour date/time and the pick up location (along with a confirmation email with your FareHarbor ticket). Our dear tour guide and driver who picked us up was Kapena (AKA Kap), who also had snacks and drinks for us on our very long but wonderful tour. We started the tour with beautiful sweeping views and pictures of the water at several lookouts and beaches (great for pictures), followed by our 30 minute exploration of the Byodo-Inn Temple (where we saw the awe-inspiring Buddha statue and spotted a peacock). We spent some time at the macadamia nut farm for some nuts, coffee, and hot sauces (good souvenirs!) before stopping for lunch at an area full of various food trucks (I recommend getting Ry’s poke shack, Mike’s Huli Chicken, or if you want to make the extra 7 minute walk: Giovanni’s shrimp). Kap then drove us to turtle bay where my husband and I snorkeled and saw various colorful fish, sea urchin, and an octopus, and even got up close with a turtle (shout to Joss for bringing her GoPro and sharing the picture with me). The fruit stands were up next, and we chose to eat some papaya, guava, and passionfruit. Our last stop before Kap dropped us off near our hotel was the Dole Plantation. While we did not go into the maze or hopped onto the train, we had a lot of fun exploring the gift shop and eating fresh Dole Whip. Overall, this was an exceptional tour highlighting some of the best areas of Oahu and our driver and tour guide Kap made it even better with his dry humor and hospitality. I would absolutely redo this tour when I revisit Oahu.
