We visited Luray Caverns as a nice break from driving all day. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. Although the website indicated that you would go on a group tour this was not the case during our visit. We were able to walk through the cavern and stop when we wanted and enjoy the spots that were more interesting to us. There are well informed and friendly staff strategically stationed throughout the cavern. All were knowledgeable of the caverns and were happy to field any questions you may have. We loved going at our own pace and were able to self manage social distancing. Luray Caverns is well worth the stop and is good for an individual on their own, a couple or a group. We did arrive early and were the first people in the cavern. When we left about 1 1/2 hour later the parking lot was filling up.

This trail is ~1.5 miles round trip and gains ~450 feet of elevation. The hike is very easy and the trail itself is quite smooth. Once you make it to the summit of Stony Man Mountain (Shenandoah’s second highest peak), there are great photo opportunities and potential to see falcons flying overhead.

I have been to several car museums across the country, and this one has to be the best one I've ever seen! They have an impressive collection from every time period and they are all GOREGOUS. A lot of love and money was put into these pieces. It is definitely worth a visit.

We are so happy that our B&B hosts told us about this place because we probably would have missed it with so many other attractions competing for our time and attention. I'm a photographer and sometimes recommended vistas and overlooks fail to deliver. However, we were so impressed with this one that we went back twice in two days.

Parking was a little tight for a weekday, so you may want to go earlier or later in day. It's a very easy, short, and obstacle-free pathway to the overlook. This is a well-maintained trail made accessible to everyone.

The outlook has a nice viewing platform, but it's the view that's stunning. If you have a panorama feature on your phone---capture it here! My favorite scene is probably best captured with a telephoto lens showing a sliver of highway down in the valley surrounded by lush green trees.

My best shots were taken along the edge of the overlook to the right of the platform. Accessible but keep wits about you because you're off the maintained pathway. You'll be rewarded with some good photo opportunities but stay alert as you navigate this area.

Skyline Drive may be the Big Daddy of Vistas, but Storybook Trail is a must-see if you're in the Valley.

Started our weekend in Luray with a stop here at River Hill. So glad we did! We felt like family, greeted and welcomed warmly. If you aren’t into fruit wines, don’t come for the wine, but it was delicious! We bought a bottle of the strawberry to go; it made a great dessert later in the weekend. The whiskey, bourbon, and more (!) were wonderful, and this coming from someone who normally doesn’t like hard liquor. Thanks, Fred, for convincing me the good stuff doesn’t have to burn! :)

First...it's not the big city zoo's....and to me that is fine. Most of these animal's are rescued animals that were pets. The owner knows alot about the care of animals that were pets and what would happen if you put these once pets in with wild animals...or in with other pets...it would not be a good thing.
My wife and I took the Discovery Tour and we were so glad we did. The reptiles on display is stellar because there are some I have never even heard of or seen before at big zoo's. We love being able to ask questions about the animals and getting answers where as at some bigger zoo's no one is found to ask.
It was so cool to pet a porcupine named Cuddles....feed Capuchin monkeys and a Lemur....be sure to see the Condor (a big and beautiful bird). Won't forget this place.

My husband and I were very pleased with how beautiful this walk was. Easy paved walkway, large enough to easily pass other walkers. Loved that the you follow the creek the whole way. Saw fisherman pull some nice size trout out too! There are even cows in the loop area! Plenty of places to use restrooms/clean porta potties. Approx. 3 miles if you start at either end and walk the entire paved area, however there are plenty of parking areas to choose from. We had planned to bike it however we noticed only walkers so we decided to just enjoy the walk too.

My daughter and I both enjoyed a wonderful flight outdoors. Patrons were helpful and gave dinner advice. The employees were equally cool and the beer delicious!

Since it was included in the price of the caverns we visited the museum. It was small but had a lot of artifacts. Outside are six or so historic buildings that have been moved to the site, preserving them for future generations to see.

I just found the gallery while driving by. The warehouse is much bigger than expected from the street frontage. Painters in several media, fabric art, pottery and sculpture artists are represented. The front desk staff let me wander and browse at leisure without hovering.

This is a great hike that ends in a fantastic view! We met William who was camping at the shelter up top. This is a great hike to do in the winter when Skyline Drive is closed. We've done this one a few times now.

Loved all the little shops combined into one. A lot of things you don't always see in some shops. Reasonable prices on numerous things. So happy we stopped by. Found it while driving around touring Luray.

My wife and I were greeted enthusiastically by the staff. We greatly enjoyed the railroad museum that is integrated with the visitor center. We were treated to a long freight train that breezed by as we stood by the tracks.
