Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- UgnÄ— LPanevezys, Lithuania23 contributionsThere were a lot of military things in the museum. It was quite intetesting. However, we did not learn much and some things were not real (etc. Underground potatoe storage was represented as hideout from atomic weapon).Written 15 June 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 351karisLohja, Finland1,005 contributionsThe 3rd oldest light house in the world still in operation. If interested in lighthouses this is a must when in the region.Written 25 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sigrid TTartu, Estonia80 contributionsThe spot for the memorial is perfectly chosen, the monument itself is simple and carries the message very well. I think all Estonians were touched by the catastrophy of the ferry sinking in the autumn storm of 1994. So here is the place to take a moment and remember...Written 29 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marcus DTartu, Estonia1,200 contributionsThe site is great advertisement for recycling materials and horizontal thinking for material use.
The wood used in the construction of the Hiiumaa Eiffel, I understood, includes the roots of JUNIPER bushes.
Seeing is believing ...... and somehow none of my party - 2 x 60+ and 2 x teens - wanted to venture to the top despite there being no wind. According to the website's photo-gallery
http://www.hiiumaaeiffel.ee/Pildid-2011 you can, on a clear day, see the Takhuna Lighthouse from the top. The highest we got was the 1st level - about the same height as the surrounding trees!
When we went the entry fee was a donation in a bucket at the bottom of the stairs. I got the impression that there was no official entry fee because site's concern for the safety of visitors is non-existent - see for example also Kallaste Cliff review (where the top of the cliff is unguarded). The Eiffel is the high profile (no pun intended) attraction. The quirky recycling of plastic bottles on yet more juniper roots are interesting side attractions.Written 14 July 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wojciech DThe Netherlands3 contributionsWonderful place to visit especially if you like to watch birds and wild horses. I was lucky enough to see there traveling geese, swans and other birds just above my had. Nice surprise was also to meet wild horses passing by 3 m away. During the autumn season this is great place to visit!Written 21 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jan74 contributionsSmaller than the other lighthouses in Hiiumaa, but worth a visit since it's quite near to KĹŤpu lighthouse. Easy climb to the top and you can see the nearby surfing beach quite well from there. Cozy and nice :)Written 26 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- justaroverSotogrande, Spain89 contributionsSome interesting exhibits about Hiiumaa life but only a few exhibits had English subtitles meaning there wasn't too much for us tourists. I liked the details they had, interesting take on the manor system that was in place. A nice play corner for the children as well. Good place to wile away a rainy hour or so.Written 31 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Marcus DTartu, Estonia1,200 contributionsThis is the largest manor house on Hiiumaa and dates from the mid 1700s. Located no more than 50 yards from the main road. The building has been preserved by the state, but only because the building now houses a Vocational school as well as an elementary school. Consequently the interior is NOT open to the public.
The English style park that surrounds the house is open to the public and worth a visit.Written 14 July 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It must have been a magnificent place for religious services. The ruins are conserved today, definitely worth visiting especially those interested in history.Written 12 November 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kirsikiviTallinn, Estonia31 contributionsLovely scenery, nice walk on a hot summer day. The trail goes along the river and the river is so clear and cold. In the middle you can choose between short and long trail but the long is probably under 2 km so definitely take the long one ;-)Written 9 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
