Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So there’s tons of reviews to skip this area or even warn of its dangers.
I went in the day time and only walked a few blocks in this neighborhood at night, so I can’t speak to the latter much.

There are a lot of cool shops, particularly for voodoo, spooky things, souvenirs, etc.
Plenty of bars and food - lively atmosphere for parties or those looking for a rowdier time.
Some well known attractions in the area like the Museum of Death.

This place does smell.. like urine. And I did come across one scammer asking about my shoes but you can easily ignore them. Bring walking shoes though.
    Colorful neighborhood overall.

If you are looking for some family fun or a night out on bourbon St, this is definitely the place be during February. When I was in high school, we performed in this really nice parade. Also visited another time to meet friends for an All star weekend in 2012. The entire weekend was full of fun. We didn't stop moving, we went so many didn't places around the city.

The most fun I’ve ever had in an escape room. All of the “things” worked. We did the voodoo cemetery room and it was well themed for NOLA. Kam was our game guide and he gave us memes to let us know if we were doing well or falling behind. If I ever come back to New Orleans I’ll definitely stop here again.

I had an in-person tarot reading with Mimi, and I truly feel changed. I deeply appreciate her craft and kindness. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for an intuitive reading from someone with keen insights. She helped me focus in on things, clarify some feelings I've had for a long time. And gave me the courage to realize a few of my goals for the year. I'll always be grateful, and I'm so looking forward to a virtual reading in the future with her. I hope this finds her well when she sees it! The curation here is top notch for all my personal casting and ritual work. Vibe's always great. The cashier who rang all my goodies up was a total gem, as well! All around happy to support this amazing place every time I'm in Nola.

A collection of objects related to serial killers and the treatment of dead bodies. Honestly felt like they just collected any object that looks gross for the sake of it, or objects that a serial killer has owned at some point in the past. I would say it's not worth the price, unless you're really into it. Even then, it's just two rooms, won't make for a very long visit.

If you like horse racing, you will like this. This is a very nice race course. We got seats in the club house. They recommend you purchase those in advance and if you want to eat, make reservations in the dining area. It costs $80 for six in a box.

We did the Inventor’s Attic. Really awesome experience, from the check in, to the lobby (which had a series of puzzles to do while you wait!). There were puzzles we did that were very different from any I’ve done anywhere else, and the production value was super high. Highly recommend.

Loved this shop! Stumbled upon on it on one of our many walking adventures. I love all the art from local artists. A lot of unique pieces and a lot to look at. From jewelry to art prints and tarot cards etc. I left with a beautiful major arcana card set for a friend. The quality is 10/10 and it was the perfect gift. I’ll definitely come back for more gifts and personal items next time I visit NOLA.

My host, Dee, was absolutely amazing. I didn’t like escape rooms at first, but now I am intrigued and I want to come back, but only with Miss Dee<3

A group of friends and us participated in this course for my wife’s birthday. The class was fun and informative. The owner taught the class and she was knowledgeable about New Orleans history and cocktails from the area. After taking this class, I have a new appreciation for practice of cocktail making and cocktails that are made from fresh ingredients.

I’ve shared this class with other friends visiting New Orleans and I plan on returning in the future.

Interesting place although they don’t appear to allow photos. It’s on the smaller side and quite busy but neat things inside!

The NOLA swamp tour took on a whole new dimension in a kayak. Fabulous guide and there was no pressure to keep up. Relaxing and beautiful!
