Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Breathtaking! We must have walked around for hours. It was a beautiful day, the breeze off the Mighty Mississippi was so refreshing. Don’t miss it!

I visited the French Quarter while in New Orleans. It was great seeing street performers as you were walking down the sidewalks. They also have plenty of shops and restaurants to check out!

This gorgeous cathedral is in the central hub of New Orleans, right by Jackson Square, and is worth a visit for the breathtaking architecture alone. However, it's also an active place of worship and is a serene place to pause and reflect despite the constant stream of people. I loved the contradictions between a bustling, social city like New Orleans and the peaceful atmosphere within the cathedral. We were sincerely welcomed when we stepped inside and were allowed to stay for as long as we wanted. We paused to inhale a few moments of calm.

We purchased two levels of tickets; one for $50 that got us front row and one for $40 that got us second row. The gentleman who seated us was very accommodating and put us in seats next to each other. Definitely recommend getting tickets in advance as the standing room only filled very quickly after the prepurchases were seated. If you are expecting a traditional venue experience, this may not be for you. There are no microphones or sound equipment; it is all acoustic which really adds to the authenticity of the experience. We especially appreciated that it is a cell phone free zone meaning no video or photos during the performance. Be mindful that the seats are vintage benches with no backs and you are sitting in very close quarters. The performance lasted about an hour with the sextet performing about a half dozen songs. It is a very intimate, authentic, almost church-like setting . It was the end to a very memorable evening, and we will definitely go again when we are in NOLA!

Zelda was an amazing tour guide. Smooth transitions with pace and information given. Passion was shown throughout walk and had the group very comfortable. Will be coming back with friends and family!

This was actually a very informative and interesting little museum. The displays are well labeled, and they have audio tours if you are so inclined. The collection of artifacts is large even though it is a relatively small space. I loved learning about both the ridiculous things that used to be part of the practice of medicine and also the early success stories that are presented.

Pleasant, well laid out museum which gives a great history of the Acadian/Cajun people in Louisiana.
The available boat ride is also interesting and a good way to gain additional knowledge of the local area.

My wife and I visited this museum on Sunday, March 12, 2023. This was our fifth trip to NOLA but first visit to the museum. It is free but you should make a voluntary donation. The museum itself is spectacular, very nicely renovated housing complex with lots of fascinating exhibits over three floors. We were there for almost three hours and did not see everything. In addition to the museum they also have a historic home we did not get to on this visit but plan on visiting on out next trip.

    Fascinating tour and gorgeous house.
They should have room information cards made in various languages ( Spanish, French, German etc) as French speaking visitors couldn’t communicate with the tour guide who has to rely on Google translate. Or have audio guides made up for in foreign languages.

Only visited the Hurricane Katrina exhibition. Very impressive... the human story .... the problems caused by administration .... the courage and sensitivity of the front liners...
The wave of help from outside ..
Never imagined the scale of the disaster

We came to see the Mermaids when they had presented them. The facility is definitely a treat for the eyes. I think the rate is high though for what you get. Without the mermaids, the usual interactive exhibit is the stingray pool. It's all scenic, makes for good pictures. Entry gave 5 minutes to see the mermaids in the water, another charge to take a photo with one. It's appearance is nice, immersive. Nothing to do outside like others I've been to, but it is a place to check off when visiting New Orleans. It's just the rate for admission that I think is high, spend all day there, get your monies worth. I think the rate for kids and seniors SHOULD be $15, adults $25. That's comparable to what you get, since you're doing all the work of walking. They have a neat treehouse you can stand in, overlook the rainforest type foliage and guests walking under. I heard they closed since our visit and are undergoing renovations and will reopen in the summer of 2023. I hope the rate doesn't increase because then it might be fitting if they add to it.

Great food and I would recommend the Pina coladas. The stalls in the flea market are fairly standard for a market, very few are unique but worth a visit all the same.

This place is so much fun! Everyone knows most of us can't afford to buy the things they have there, and they're quite okay with people just treating it as a museum/attraction. Great stuff, e.g when we went, Prince's jewelry was there for sale. Huge variety from all eras and styles. We actually went in May 2021, but Tripadvisor won't let me choose that option.

We so much enjoyed seeing this historic home..we wished the tour guide was not there so we could just have viewed the property without her lengthy lectures
