Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This visit and gallery will challenge (and inspire) the way you see things. It reminds us of the power of art... the power to move us, to change us. It's a warehouse converted into a gallery, including contemporary and interpretive art pieces and massive, spray-painted canvases that cause us to tip our heads back and hold the beauty and enormity of what they represent. And scattered throughout the space are messages, poems, lyrics that serve to inspire new visions, a re-imagination of what the world can be. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, note that the exterior buildings may not match your expectations of art or gallery... but the large murals in the area hint at what's inside this amazing space. I tell any visitor to put it at the top of there New Orleans to-do list.

George Rodrigue Studios on Royal Street is great. If you are not familiar with his work, look it up. I have a couple of his artworks and if you want to see more, visit the Blue Dog Café in Lafayette, LA, awesome food and you see all his original works of the walls of the café.

We vacationed in New Orleans for a week and a visit (strolling along Royal Street) to this art gallery was a highlight of our trip. The art work is very unique and charming. Carol
Siekkinen, the owner, is so lovely, friendly and kind; she even had a box of tissues on hand (for visitors, like me, who were so moved, got "emotional"). Readers take note: do yourselves a favor and place this inspirational art gallery high on your 'Things I must do in New Orleans' list!

We visited so many galleries during our week in NOLA, this was one of our favorites. Jamie really took her time to understand what we were interested in.
Lots of reasonable priced local contemporary art to be found here.

This is a great gallery to visit in the New Orleans Art district. The staff are friendly and very low key. You can stroll around the gallery and take your time. There are usually several artists presented so you have some variety to view. If you like to go to galleries you will like this one.

Friends of ours, frequent customers of this elegant gallery, told us to check it out several years ago, although undoubtedly they knew we would likely never be able to effort buying one of these beautiful, colorful, New Orleans-themed paintings, besides would not have enough space in our house for them. But, we go back there every time we are in NOLA anyway just to enjoy looking at these fine works of art.

We were wondering on our way to another shop, but were captivated by the artwork and jewelry in the windows of Sutton Galleries! Truth be told, we were taken by many high quality jewelry pieces and did not give the gallery its fair share of our time. Ryan, the salesperson, was fun and professional, and helped us narrow down our jewelry selection (It was hard to choose just one). We come to New Orleans annually so we will be back!

To think we almost missed this gem! We walked into a grocery store and commented on a cool sign over the register. The owner said, “Oh, that’s Dr. Bob’s. His gallery is around the corner. You should check it out”. It was such an experience. Dr. Bob even smiled for a picture…he’s not much of a smiler!

I had no idea about this place! It was raining and cold so spur of the moment we jumped inside to get warm and enjoy the art. It was so exciting to see works from famous artists. No lines and you could get so close to the works of art. Everything from Picasso to Rembrandt! What a fabulous find. Highly suggest checking this place out. Curator was very personable and even came up and asked if we had any questions. I wanted pictures, but I was afraid to do it. Lol

FIrst, I love strolling up and down Magazine Street. Second, I love great art. What's different about Cole Pratt is that you will see art that you don't see in other galleries. They have a really nice variety of modern, contemporary, abstract art from local/regional artists ... many of them making their debut in the New Orleans art scene. The staff is friendly, courteous, professional and easy to talk to. No snobby attitudes here, just helpful and knowledgeable.

I am not by any means an “art person”, but I was in awe by the beauty of these pieces. The way the light interacted with the paintings and the almost 3D effect had me mesmerized. Claudia was so kind and educated on all the pieces, and was a pleasure to speak with.

This was a great experience for everyone. There is lots of information about the life and history of Van Goth. It illustrates what was happening I. His life when each piece was made. The immersive part, allows you to sit and be surrounded like all the art as it moves from one artistic period to another. We skipped the make your own art but you should definitely pay the $5 for the virtual reality. It allows you to spend 11 minutes walking through the art of Van Gogh.

So many antique shops in New Orleans and then there are even more based in the French Quarter. Its sometimes hard to figure out which have real high quality versus others. This felt like they had some real items.
