Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Awesome trip. Van left on time, Kate did a great job giving us some history of the area on the drive up, and as we got closer to Oak Alley, she had Robert (our driver) slow down as we passed each plantation and she filled us in on the area’s plantation history. The Oak Alley house and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. After a better than expected lunch at the onsite restaurant, we headed to Cajun Pride for the swamp tour. Although the gators were the star of the show, our guides’ stories and knowledge of the swamp were even more impressive. Robert got us safely back at 6:30 on the dot, the scheduled end time. Loved the zydeco music on the way back. Highly recommend the tour.

A historical evening spent on this steamboat based in NOLA. I would definitely give the food a miss. The best bit was the creamed spinach and gumbo. It was mass catering so it didn’t suit our needs. Although the server was lovely and attentive. The photo scam at the beginning didn’t impress either and they wanted to charge $38 and taxes for the privilege. Apart from these negatives the steamboat was amazing. Loved the journey down the Mississippi. Unfortunately couldn’t hear the person telling us the sights and history due to the loud talking and band. But it didn’t matter it was lovely to be on the boat steeped in history. Well worth taking the trip but forego the food.

We just returned from this cruise. We paid to have the lunch that is mentioned in the information. I wish I’d realised that there was the option of a snack area where you could buy hot dogs etc as the meal was way too much for me to eat. The information provided during the cruise was very interesting and thankfully even though lots of people were chatting, we were still able to hear what was said. I would do this cruise again probably without the meal. Be aware that there are lots of stairs on this boat and because of its age there is no elevator. Still able to move around on the lower deck.

Took my 3 college age kids and my husband on the garden tour. It's was very informative and our your guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He was very entertaining and made it fun. We were in the shade for most of the tour which is nice. We enjoyed very much. We then went to Steins deli for lunch. Very good!!

This was the perfect way to take a swamp tour. The boat was covered under the hot sun. The wind off the water was cool. At times it could be completely quiet to get close to the wildlife, unlike airboats. We saw gators, raccoons, a crane, and other wild life. Captain Zander was the perfect guide as he grew up on a farm near the swamps. He was funny and informative, and was able to call gators and raccoons over to our boat with his own verbal animal calls. This is a fun and highly recommended tour within 45 minutes of New Orleans. The bus that got us there even had its own tour guide

The cemetery tour was an absolute must during the trip. We had Will as our guide, who was not only friendly but very informative and knowledgeable and could answer any question about the grounds. Would recommend to anybody visiting NOLA
