Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate lunch across the street and decided to stroll through the Healing Center. Interesting place to poke around and explore. Loved the art, great whole foods type market and if you are into Voodoo, much info. Fantastic rugs on the floors and the blueprints on fabric hanging from the ceilings were amazing. Worth the time we spent browsing and would recommend to friends.

This is a simply stunning yoga studio - the nicest city-based studio I've ever visited.

We visited every day for 8 days whilst on vacation and took value from all bar one of the classes we went to. That one class wasn't badly taught, it just wasn't taught in a way that appealed to me.

Drop in classes aren't cheap, but they do a daily $9 drop in class - and we took up a 30 day trial membership, which is very good value at $50.

A big shout-out to Cheyenne, who taught the best-structured yoga class I think I've ever been to. Each iteration of each flow gently and clearly built in difficulty, but in a way that was accessible to everyone in the class.

Yoga-geeks would do well to try one of Regino's classes, which are so unlike anything I've ever done before. He focuses on how the movement of different body parts relate and affect each other. I've taken home more insight from that class than any other.

And a huge hug to Brittney for looking out for us.

A perfect place to balance all the gumbo and jazz...

I was staying in the quarter and looking for an authentic pilates studio. The concierge recommended this studio and suggested I take the trolley. Be sure to ask for directions as not in a location you expect.

The instructors are well trained and creative with the work out. I left feeling like I was pushed but no too much and had that pleasant afterglo of endorphons surging. And then I went out and drank and ate more but at least I got in a great workout

Free to Be Yoga was pre-pandemic and still is now (March 2023) one of my favorite yoga studios of all time. It’s warm, but not too hot. The Downtown space is beautiful with a wall of windows and offers rentals of everything needed to practice while traveling. At the end of class the teacher brings everyone a cold lavender washcloth, which feels amazing on my face after a rigorous session. I always have to go when I’m lucky enough to be in New Orleans.

We were visiting New Orleans, doing all the usual touristy stuff, and we were pretty beat. It was too early for a sazerac, but we knew we could use a little pampering. We didn't know anything about Bayou Massage and Wellness in Uptown, but we decided to take a chance. We are so glad we did! The proprietor and masseuse, Carolyn, is a delightful young woman. She is professional, yet approachable. She has a very calm and soothing way about her, both in her demeanor and voice. We learned that Bayou Massage and Wellness is the first business Carolyn has owned, but she has been doing massage and yoga for many years. She is strong, without being harsh. She seems to sense when and where a muscle needs a little more or a little less. It was a fabulous massage.

I highly recommend Bayou Massage and Wellness!
