Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Mike HarmonPensacola, FL79 contributionsThe columns was a rundown fleabag hotel when I lived in NOLA in the late 60s but it’s fairly inexpensive, funky hotel now. Located on St Charles Av in the historic uptown neighborhood , the hotel has seen a lot of upgrades. The public places sport a melange of antiques. And the bar with its dark wood banquette is cool. From the second floor balcony you can sit in the shade and watch the street cars trundle by. There’s a restaurant but I didn’t try it; too many great restaurants nearby to take a chance. On the downside, the bathrooms are shabby and the WiFi didn’t work. If u sit on the front veranda, they want you to buy a drink or food. There’s no parking so your on your own there. But our room was clean and the bed (which is so high that they provide a steps to climb aboard) was comfy. The AC worked too. If you want the opposite of a corporate hotel experience, The Columns is a good alternative.Written 28 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott DOwensboro, KY22 contributionsIt was a intro to burlesque show in an intimate venue. There were 3 performers that did 2 different dances all each unique in their own way. The host was humorous, the stage Manager Helen was nice and the bartender was an total knockout and very friendly. The entertainers appreciate audience participation with the tossing of dollar Bill's on the floor while they are performing so take plenty of ones with you. The environment was very relaxed and a good place for couples to have a drink and watch a show. It was a block and a half from our hotel.Written 26 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ChloGotFloMiami, FL140 contributionsGreat service, functional concept, delivery service, Saturday wine tastings & wine on tap. These were some of the major things that attracted me to this place. I love how there is a wall that has everything you need to know about wine. How cool is it also to have delivery as an option? My sister and I wanted our friend to have a special birthday and got her a bottle of V. Clicquot to her job in the CBD. I say add this to your to do list when you go to New Orleans.Written 27 September 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stew SNew Orleans, LA593 contributionsRecently opened at the American Can mini-mall on Orleans Ave, this is a neat place to stop in and meet your friends. Nice interior sitting area and lotsa wine to enjoy. - Tameeka C9 contributionsThis venue is just a jewel. I visited for a wine tasting and we enjoyed our time there. The host was so amazing and educated us on wine pairings. He was quite handsome as well. The wines were really great. Our board was fresh and included the perfect snacks for pairing. I will return again in the future.Written 27 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
