Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An opulent building and one of the most interesting tours I've done on this particular trip to the USA. Our guide paced things perfectly, explaining the details of each room and answering any questions. Lots of photograph opportunities.

I found this highly educational and enjoyable.

This was a great first stop in Philadelphia! I was able to pick up a map and get some tips and tickets from the nice park rangers. Its in a good location because the Liberty Bell is just across the street, and after, Independence Hall.
I was able to get tickets (more like a reservation because its free) for Independence Hall from the visitor’s center. They also have some facts and tidbits about the 1700s, which sort of set up the atmosphere for our Independence Hall tour.

Independence Visitor Center also has very nice bathrooms, a cafe, and a gift shop with some fun photo opportunities. The staff, park rangers included were so helpful and nice. I definitely suggest this being the first stop you take before you explore Philadelphia.

One of the largest library systems in the country, the Free Library is worthy of your time. Dramatic architecture, a large collection of books, journals, maps and multimedia await you and are definitely worth your time. Located nearby is their Friends of the Free Library, featuring used books and multimedia at great prices. Coffee table and large format photography books can be obtained in great condition, along with television series on DVD from the UK.

This behemoth is almost too big. Be sure to take a building map so you won’t get lost in the multiple corridors and floors. Place was mostly in good condition. note that not all restrooms and shops maybe be open. it depends on the activity/conference that day.

What a gem the Rosenbach is! I hadn't been to the Rosenbach for years, but my granddaughter wanted to see it. The tour guide was excellent, the staff who welcomed us filled with enthusiasm. The highlight for me is Marianne Moore's room and the great insight into the Rosenbach brothers, two of the most cultured men of their time. If you love books, the history of Philadelphia, or the world of Marianne Moore, you should visit this gem.

An outstanding private library in a wonderful 19th century building facing Washington Square. Shareholders are privileged to attend a number of lectures and exhibits annually.

We attended the opening of the Ghost River exhibit. The Library Company invited Native American guests who were consultants for the book. Mingling with the members allowed for a greater understanding of the good, the bad, and the ugly of colonization depicted in the book. We also got to see several old books and documents, The card catalog actually till exits for researchers who are big users of this location. The Elliott Bible, the first Bible transcribed in a Native American language, was available for viewing. A light appetizer and beverage spread was provided for the guests in the well maintained meeting rooms.

We returned to campus recently and got a chance to re-visit my favorite building. A place I used to study. The architecture is stunning.

This significant Civil War library and museum emphasizes the Union Army's archives. Unfortunately, the museum is currently closed. It's building was sold. It's collection has been moved to The Grand Army of The Republic's Museum in another neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Next to Independence Hall, the museum of the country’s first learned scientific society, the American Philosophical Society, houses an ever changing exhibition of the sciences and humanities with the current exhibition featuring Thomas Jefferson as a scientist. While this exhibition is relatively small, it is absorbing and well worth your time, especially when waiting to enter Independence Hall.

My wife and I flew out of Philadelphia on United on Sunday early morning
My wife being a skidish flyer wanted a glass of wine before boarding and even though we held First class tickets, admittance to the United club was not permitted so we purchase two passes at $59 each and after we entered we were told no drinks this early per Philadelphia laws
We sat for l as than an hour and headed for the gate and surprise, many places in concourse were serving drinks
We were also informed that the pass was only valid in Philadelphia that day so our layover in Chicago was not included
    Great deal-for United
Flights were good and nice service but Clubs, they should be ashamed

Really enjoyed our visit, since we are closely linked to the Japanese-American community. The exhibit at the time told the story of Japanese internment in WWII vividly. You will leave knowing much more than when you arrived!
