Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great walk through Central Park. Even in winter, lots to check out. Favs: Imagine/Strawberry Fields, Belvedere Castle, Alice in Wonderland statue.

We decided on Top of the Rock instead of Empire State and I'm so glad we did. We paid an extra $10 to go at sunset but that was worth it. Once you're up you can stay for as long as you like. There are three different levels of viewpoints and each is worth a visit. The views are very different from the north and south sides of the building.

Walked the High line en route to the Edge (dont bother with this though). A nice stroll, but would have been much nicer in the Spring or Autmn (Fall). Good access at various stages to drop down to Street level to Chelsea Market, Chelsea Piers ad Little islands plus lots of other areas.

The High Line itself at this time of year wasnt amazing, just a nice walk away from the street level, however I'm sure it burst into life in the warmer months!

Heard and seen so many films with the statue in, couldn’t come to New York and not visit this amazing monument, just a short ferry trip, walk around the grounds, to learn interesting facts in the museum, really good value for money 😊

Looking for a quiet stroll over this famous bridge ? No chance - very very busy even in January - be prepared for the crowds ! Still worth doing though.

...a long-time local who is passionate about his Subject and sharing it with his Charges. His friendly, energetic and infectious style will hold your interest as he relates the history of this beautiful and glorious piece of American Gilded Age architecture. Actually, his is the only tour I've ever taken twice, now and a year ago while on vacation to NYC. There's a lot of history, interesting facts, and much to see and hear on his tour. Don't miss it!

One of the most popular attractions in Time Square is the New Year's Eve ball drop, where thousands of people gather to ring in the new year. The ball, weighing over 12,000 pounds, is raised to the top of a flagpole at the stroke of midnight, and the crowd erupts in cheers as it begins its descent.

Visitors can also take a stroll through the bustling pedestrian plazas, which are lined with street performers, food vendors, and souvenir shops. The area is also home to several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

The Rockefeller Center is an immense 22 acre business complex in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Luck would have it, my timing was bang-on for a performance of the Today Show. More luck, I could have swore that I saw an aging David Letterman walk out of the famed Rainbow Room, I could have been wrong, but I doubt it. The property is just jammed with attractions and I just wandered around looking up and about. The business sections were occupied by the likes of the Radio City Music Hall theatre, the home of NBC Studios and more. The enormous Xmas tree and bustling skating rink were fascinating.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is a catholic cathedral in the mid-town Manhattan neighborhood of NYC. It is massive as it occupies a city block bounded by Fifth avenue, Madison, 50th and 51st streets and in spite of it's attractive power, it is an active parish. I visited St. Patrick's to appreciate it's Gothic Revival architecture.....impressive. As I entered the cathedral I was enthralled with the stained glass, the opulent alter and 'the way of the cross' statuettes. The environment enticed me to say a Hail Mary and light a candle for my Mother who was a devout catholic.
